Ice Stiletto?
This spell seems pretty bad. I guess it can freeze one enemy for a while but I feel there's way better options fir light spells. Anyone can say otherwise? I'm kind of curious if i should bother leveling it.

I have not used it but its hard to beat the Blight Cyst or the Frost Cone, I have not tried stormball but I think it needs burning stake to be good and I dont have it yet.

I will probably level it and see what I can do with it, it would need to refresh with one kill to be worth it I think, you can use the Balewort for extra recharge and might need a ton of wichery.

It resets if you miss so thats nice.

I kind of wish they would let us equip more than one light spell, as this really corners you into making just a few choices, since some spells are just way better than others, some are niche, and then there are some that will always be useful no matter what's happening on a run.

As an example, Ice Cone is top tier for the simple reason that it does what it says on the box. A quick blast that can freeze multiple enemies. And let's be real, being able to freeze multiple enemies is "always" going to be useful.

On the opposite end of the spectrum is Fireball. Sure, it sounds good, until you realize it can be wasted by whacking terrain, or if it doesn't kill what you shot it at then like what's the point? Or sometimes the fireballs just don't lock onto the enemies you were looking at.

Then there's Lighting, which is kind of just a worse (though longer range) ice cone. Sure, it's longer range, but Ice Cone still does the crowd control thing way better.

Having two light spells would also allow for some nice combos, and would allow you to slot in those "lesser" spells.

Sure Stake + Stormball or similar are strong combos but Ice Stiletto at tier 3 grants an immediate refill if you miss a target and makes it more forgiving as it is ranged (far) and not tracking. Heavy spells have different reload 'times' (number of enemies defeated/damage dealt) so I expect light spells have too and Ice Stiletto is up fast.

Mysterium 3 allows you to cast it again instantly if you happen to miss / not hit an enemy. It's the best light ice spell, IMO.

Poor fireball would need to do like 5x the damage to compete with Ice Cone.

I am guessing Ice Stiletto might be useful vs powerful enemies while using long ranged weapons.
Freeze into easy headshots, and it also interrupts those big fancy attacks.
ice stiletto is busted for bosses when you pair it with cornucopia and hangfire, you can one phase the first boss and chunk the others

Fireball is just plain bad at the moment.

It's a DPS spell that does almost no damage "and" can get interrupted by terrain or just fly off into nothing.

It either needs a "much" quicker recharge or to do way more damage.

I found that Ice Stiletto + Burning Stake has been a great combo, While the Stake is active, Frozen enemies "melt" immediately, but they seem to take damage when "Frozen" and "On Fire" cancel each other out.

It's also great when you get that Arcana that deals MaxHP % damage when an enemy unfreezes. And any Ice Arcana that spawns a cloud that Freezes nearby enemy.

Mysterium 3 Stiletto is much more forgiving as it refunds the spell on misses.

This build is much more a DPS than a CC build, ngl.

Stiletto is intended for Elite/Major enemies. It freezes longer than cone, which is meant for weaker AOE freeze. It's a good spell if you need help vs the beefier enemies, need skill with it though. Not S-tier but it's under rated

Very fast cooldown, and last level gives it back if you miss. I love it.

It's a fast, long-range "burn" debuff placer with a fast cooldown. Good for getting +20% or 25% damage or whatever it is if you don't have one of the many weapons that also does that. One of the later tiers lets you aim it, I believe.

This. The stormball and other AoE spells are fun for map clearing, but in the boss fights you will appreciate an accurate long range freeze with little to no cooldown.
