All done with unlocks but, HOW does the ring of thorns work?
I don't think our dash has i-frames so, how does the game determine which attack is 'dodged' to apply the decay?

It feels really consistent when dodging melee attacks but I swear that I've dodged musketeers and sometimes it works on them and sometimes it doesn't? I got a witch with it once by dodging it's spell, but only once? IDK that ring is weird.

Yeah I was trying it out and it seems to only really work on melee, which means the description is wrong and should be fixed.

Yea, or hopefully they can tweak it a little bit to make it more consistently trigger against ranged enemies. If I felt that the ring was consistent than it might be my fav ring for the ammo drops alone.

The ring effect is triggered when you dodge an attack and look at the attacking opponent. The effect also works on long-range attacks, but it is necessary to be at a short distance from the target.

Where are you getting the look at the opponent thing? I've dodged melee attacks and NOT looked at the opponent and they were decayed.

I feel like the window for what the game considers dodging an attack is too tight.

You can dodge ranged attacks and have it work too but I have dodged ranged attacks taht litterally grazed my body and it didnt count so its not entirely based on just how close you were to the attack.

The initiation of the dodge has to be when the bullet is close enough to be considered dodging it and its travel speed requires you to dodge when its outside of that range in order to actually dodge the attack.

Same goes for a melee attack, the attack has to be registerd kind of like a dark souls parry you have to be close enough and dodge at the right time also I am not sure if there is an internal cooldown on how often it can proc.

I used to use this ring until I decided the Ring Of Excreta was just better at doing the decay to an enemy, once its fully upgraded, but I since switched to Shadowmist Ring because you can fly and dash upward through the air, basically air dash at the flying spitting slam ball enemies and its a lot of fun.

Hey I noticed when using the Shadowmist ring that if I tried to dodge to the side, I would be force to dodge forward through the nearest enemy. Does that happen to you too? I hate not being in control of my movement so I gave that right up.

You should be able to dodge in any direction using the Shadowmist ring. Of course, if you don't indicate a direction the default is forward.

No the dodge works pretty great, sometimes i dodge close to the enemy and to the side or backwards and its fine there are times where I even dash just through their side but it doesnt count towards freezing them but if I go strait for them then I can go up and stuff too so I have a lot more control, it also extends its range when you lock on and dash trough especially with multiple enemies and can freeze multiple too.
