Ignite and Burn?
okay so maybe this is a stupid question but.. What do Ignite and Burn actually do? Neither seem to be DOT damage unless I'm just blind and my sources of them are very small (Hangfire Tier 3 & Painted tooth), both make targets appear on "fire" but they don't seem to be taking damage.

Is it just extra damage for the hit that applies the Ignite/Burn? Does it mean they take more damage after they are ignited/Burning? I can't find anything anywhere that actually says what either does.

Elements in the Game react to each other.

Fire + Ice: damaging explosion (set damage values)
Fire + Lightning: stronger lightning bolts
Fire + Decay: stronger Decay ticks
Lightning + Ice: less minimal delay between lightning bursts (normally when you shoot an electrified enemy it will emmit lightning bolts only once every X seconds)
Lightning + Decay: lightning bursts are emitted with every decay tick
Ice + Decay: decay duration doest count down until the enemy is unfrozen

Lightning+Ice is my favorite.
As far as i know, if an enemy is on fire, he will take additional damage from your Gunshots.
and then there is of course still the elemental mixup mechanic as mentioned above.

Yeah I saw this while looking on the Wiki, but couldn't for the life of me figure out what the base effect did lol

Right, thanks, that was what I thought was most likely. I'm also starting to think ignite and burn is the same thing, they should really change some of the descriptions and stick to using one keyword or the other

I agree the games tooltips and descriptions could often be more clear and comparable.
Its what i hate about any Game that does descriptions like "raises your health a bit", what is a bit?

Same goes for items like the Ornamental Key or other events in the game that should be consistent but somehow arent.
Like lowering the gate bridge in the castle somehow resets when you enter next time, which is odd and you need new Ornamental Keys for the backdoor for every use, which is also an odd decision and the descriptions dont make that clear anywhere.
