Charging Burning Stake

Is this based on total damage dealt or based on "number of instance of damage"
Want to know any weapon or light spell more suitable combo

Personally for light spell, I use stormball and for weapon you can use Midas or Ricochet. Rotweaver and Hangfire can work too if you upgrade them.

So this means number of instance is better for burning stake eh.
I test the burning stake with Striga and find it very hard to charge up

I really like to use the stake with Rotweaver + Severed Ear ("Reloading releases a shockwave that knocks back nearby enemies."). Upgrade the Ear to level 3 for this effect "The shockwave damages enemies affected by Decay". As suggested above, add the Stormball to the mix and you have a really nice elemental combo.

If you're just looking for a fast way to level up the burning stake, go to the tower on the first map. The initial floor level spawns waves of trash mobs.

Is the flaming melee light spell not good synergy with this?

Naw, you want to get combination of elements running together as they react to each other. Personally I think it's best to stick to 2 but you can realistically run 3 elements if you want.

Oh ok. Currently the only lighting spell I have is chain lighting which I always cast and miss the target

I'm assuming you are talking about Lightning Bolt. Are you close enough when you cast it? Almost every gun has a longer range than that spell.

A lot of people talk about using Stormball with Stake but I would also recommend trying Blight Cyst for the light spell, I ended up liking it more.

Is it good for mobbing? Storm ball has been my good to for mobs. It is fire and forget, and with Stake the mobs seem to just vanish
