Is "Luck" Actually useless?
I have Luck at 20 and it seems like nothing changed. I still pick up items even with very low risk and get cursed. You'd think with luck so high at least low risk items would be like a 95% chance of a successful pick up. I've had a whole round where not a single item I picked up was successful. What does luck even do then??? The worst part is that on the stats screen, it doesn't give you any percentile numbers or information on what it does, unlike all the rest of the categories.

Do you have the preyer spirit that also provides luck stats?

I don't know what that is. Is it a Relic?
If you mean incarnation or starting class, I choose the Penitent Class.
It shouldn't matter considering the starting classes are just stats and items you start with.

Not positive but I think Luck affects the appearance of Calamities.

How so? Because when I pick up items they curse me which allows the calamities to happen.

High luck reduces the odds of unsuccessful pick ups, the appearance rate of healing mushrooms vs unhealing mushrooms, getting multiple feathers from chests, drop rates of healing elixirs as well as ammo and keys from random enemies. I don't think I really saw much effect from luck until it was close to 30. Currently I have luck at about 50 and rarely even get 1 calamity per map.

Luck has a negative effect because you get less calamities and its a lot of loot.

I never get loot from Calamities I get way more from Cursed Chests.

Calamity gives you guaranteed ammo pack, 6 feathers and from my experience you always get between 2-3 potions.
And since calamities are pretty easy, especialy via destroying catalyst, they are just loot pinnatas.
In the end i often trigger calamities on purpose for the loot

Yes but by "loot" I'm assuming you meant actual loot, like the treasures you turn in for gold. You don't get much of those at all during calamity. Most of the time I don't need feathers or flasks I want the gold stuff haha. Feathers and Flasks drop all the time in chests so it's not that bad but gold only comes from cursed items.

O nvm realize the spirit only lowers chances of calamity progress. If you’ve been collecting the mask shards they can be used to summon spirits to give you permanent buffs and one time abilities during your expedition

Fallen Preyers is a mechanic that provides passive buffs and allows you to activate beneficial effect once per run. On each map, there are three hidden mask shards. Once you've collected a set of three, you can unlock their respective spirit at the Hermitorium (a small flame near the level up altar). Note that you'll need Preyer Echoes currency. To get it, interact with the flame and for a small fee it will tell you, where these echoes will drop on your next run.

Luck provides more Ammo and Healthpot drops.
I've leveled it to around 25?30? and it was noticeable more Ammo and Healthpots. There are times I leave the map with 3-4 Pots on the ground.

No, by loot here i meant the pots, ammo and feathers and i know you dont need them, but they are still helpful, especially ammo.

I leveled Luck to 100. It's not that useful IMO, and starts giving diminishing returns early on. Enemies often drop keys (for example, neutralizing all enemies in the area with the drowned ship on the first map would easily get me 3-4 keys), but potion or ammo drops are still extremely rare. Not really sure how it affects Calamities, I usually get a calamity every village run, maybe 2 if I'm not careful. Any cursed item with a moderate chance or greater is better off cleansed, the chance is still way too high.
