Multiplayer will always go through steam (more simple to do) and will be both pvp and coop - but no split-screen multiplayer is planned
Thanks heaps for the quick reply. just bought your game yesterday and now i have big hopes for it :)
its awesome so far! Hope the updates keep coming =D
LAN means Local Area Network, which means anyone in your local area network (connected to ur router i think) will be able to join. Which means your computer is the host of the server, and nothing else can host it.
The main reason for this is private games. people use certain things to connect to others LAN servers, such as EVOLVE or Log Me In Hamachi.
Anyway, actually i plan to get all network by Steam network methods, so unfortunately connection will require to be online.
But that's not very bad today ; the important question is when we are playing, when sending network data to each other, will the code go through internet or directly by local network. I'm actually not sure about it - I suppose Steam network are smart enough to avoid going through an internet path, but I can't be sure about it. I shall know it soon enough when I start working on it
It will be interesting to see how you setup the multiplayer mode.
But whatever the result I'm sure i'll enjoy to work on the multi, as it's something very technical, and I love difficult technical challenges :)
And maybe if the result is very bad and poor i can focus more on the modding support than a good multiplayer lol (already trying to find a backup plan ? no!)
One Screen two characters.. Not split screen, kinda like Guantlet.
One screen while you're both near each other, then split screen if one of you decides to run off and do you own thing.
+1 would love
(but as long as new content keeps coming out im 100% happy with this game)
Although as I said it's not really planned - I don't think it would be that much needed on PC, and it's a lot lot of work. Although if one day the game is ported to Xbox/PS4 with proper controller support it would be very nice for sure
I has many Steam Local coop games, and it annoys me so many PC games don't have it when their console counter-parts do! >:(
