Multiplayer
We've been playing the multiplayer for some time now and for a beta of a early access project it plays rather well and (for us) with no real issues.

But.. there is always a but(t)! Difficulty is to low. You already have the advantage that there is no instant death as long as one of the players is alive. The monsters also seem a lot easier then when playing single.

I played this game from very early on so I was used to it being a challenge but this challenge is something that my friends who I gifted a copy are missing and never experienced.

So what i'm trying to say is (and I know it's a beta of a beta) crank up that difficulty or give us options that lets the player (host) setup the difficulty including perma death and boss item drop rate (as in not just 1 but 1 for all players who were in this battle).

Always loved this game and still do, just wanted to leave some MP feedback. Keep up the good work and hope to see an update soon(tm). :steamhappy:

But you actually already have options to manually tweak precisely the difficulty (in v0.3) ^^

All details here: https://digordie.gamepedia.com/Custom_Params

But i'm still very interested to better balance the default settings. Do you think I should add more monsters with every additional players ? Or more hp ? Or more damage ? One benefit of the custom params is that you can try to setup exactly the difficulty you wish, and then tell me the numbers so I get a good balancing suggestion :-)

I did not know that! Thanks for the info.

As for how to increase difficulty. More damage would probably mean your turrets will become useless and you (and turrets) would just get instant deaths which nobody likes and doesn't add anything to gameplay.

So I would be looking at the number and/or HP of the monsters as this is something a team of players could fight without just dying from a single hit. Numbers overwhelm graduatly and more HP would lead to the same which increases difficulty on a more timely scale and still gives players the option to flee before it's to late.

But, these are just my thoughts, did not test anything yet.
