Think they'll decanonize this game?
Horrendous reception and its tanking hard as well.

Doesnt help that its essentially retconning stuff from the Arkham games or straight up making its ending pointless.

This Harley is not Arkham Harley, not even close, this is basically Margot's Interpretation, going as far as to use the Red-Blue motif rather than Arkham's Red-Black.

Theres also shoving the Ivy relationship out of nowhere, or having her now seemingly resent the Joker and her past, after expending 2 games clearly not getting over his death, doesnt help her case that she potentially had a miscarriage based on the pregnancy test found on the City DLC.

Then theres Deadshot, which everyone knew instantly it was cause of Will Smith's interpretation.

And then we get to Batman... yeah we all know how he gets treated in this game, but lets go back to how it essentially undoes the Knight ending, where he essentially says goodbye to everyone he knows to protect them, clearly preparing to disappear from the public completely by faking his death, but nah, he came back and seemingly doesnt care anymore that his identity which is public knowledge by now could seriously put his loved ones at risk.

Yeah this game's story is just terrible, and permanently screws up the Arkhamverse, cause even if the clone theory is correct, it doesnt fix any of this, or how Metropolis was essentially wiped out, or how dumb the JL is by agreeing to Superman's even dumber idea of trying to negotiate with Brainiac, and how a group of nobodies (3 which arent even supes) managed to defeat Brainiac when the JL couldnt.

I'm fairly certain that the decision to set this game in Arkhamverse was made relatively late on as a way to piggyback on the success of previous titles.

We arent the ones that had the brilliant idea to make it canon to the Arkham games mate.

If anything large majority of the fanbase refuses to even acknowledge it as part of the same universe due to how terrible it is.

Which it is, i mean, barely holding on to 2.5k players on a weekend and it was 13k at peak, this game is flopping HARD.

I doubt it.

Pretty sure they'll see if going nearly/totally free to play will save them and if not they'll just write it off act like it didn't happen and try make something else.

Or close down the studio maybe?

Voice actor of Batman died of cancer. Rocksteady isn't the same studio with its founders gone. This isn't the same studio. Taking this game out of canon is impossible, with Sweet Baby inc writing atricious story, dialog and other less minor details.

Rocksteady needs to be reformed by WB to prevent another financial loss, which means new writers, new story. another verse. Using muliverse to memoryhole arkham-verse and start from clean slate. Green lantern corp, focus on justice league.

Keep in mind WB also owns Hogwarts Legacy which broke records and made millions and has healthy playerbase and its not a live service game.

At end of the day its up to WB to make choice between ESG score or profit. At this point nothing short a complete reset with new mindset would salvage this trainwreck.

It's already effectively non-canon since it's to do with parallel universes.

It's end of Arkham-verse. one of most beloved lines that end in with barely alive Live service

There's a famous line in one of Alan Moore's seminal superman tales... this is an imaginary story... then again aren't they all?

I wouldnt worry about it either way. Are all the good stories ruined by the bad ones based on the same characters? Naw.

They will delist and deexist it before long. There's almost no people playing the game which is a death sentence for an always online GAAS product.

Honestly I'm surprised it failed this badly... but very pleasantly so

It's not canon as far as I'm concerned, so they can do whatever they want. Now, I'd LOVE to have more Arkhamverse content but the diversity hires that are now at Rocksteady should not be permitted to make it. Rocksteady should be shuttered in all honesty.

There is a 10-11 year gap between Origins and Asylum in the canon so they could easily make more games there. They could also follow up Arkham Knight with more. They could do Batman Beyond as well. Lots of options.

But priority #1 is getting the IP in the hands of people who actually know how to make the content correctly and aren't cultural vandals like the people currently @ Rocksteady.
