The game had you in mind too bad they banked that there where a lot more like minded paying customers such as yourself to support the game.
It's all a game and why steam adds so much value as a gaming platform on top of actually playing them.
Also I own the game as well fellow Suicide Squad gamer :)
And they can just say 'ITS THE MULTIVERSE' when they change anything to suit their needs. I'm reminded of the classic spawn issue #8 if memory serves where they show all the IP superheroes caged in a jail and you can only see their arms outstretched begging for release from their corporate taskmasters.

Ok found it not the whole splash page but you get the idea and this was circa 93 haha.
While I am sure Todd felt that way at the time, he has become just as Guilty of doing the same thing. Todd clearly had intended for Spawn to only be a Limited Series with him literally having a Countdown Timer, but he couldnt help but keep Milking that Cow.
I grew to HATE how Comics dont allow the Majority of their Characters to actually Age and Develop. One major example of this is Batman. Bruce has been in his Mid 40's FOREVER, yet he has Raised 4 Kids that have Aged. One of the few Comics that did it right was Invincible.
If memory serves Alan Moore or Neil Grant wrote that issue it wasn't him he did draw it though :)
Yeah I remember that he only had so much 'energy' before he had to go back to hell or something. But in his defense Spawn looks badass so its ok. Also I don't think anyone's read more than the initial arch... I sure haven't and don't feel like it he doesn't even draw them anymore.
Read Judge Dredd from the beginning everything passes in real time... so since 77 it's been a continuing story with real stakes and a lot of important characters and billions of people have died... a good chunk by Dredd's hands. HE IS THE LAW.
Yeah, Todd stopped Drawing Spawn once his Figures took off. He had to much to do running things behind the scenes, so he found an Artist that could Mimic his Style. I dont remember the Guys name, but he did it for a looooong time.
Agree that Spawn is indeed one of the coolest looking Characters. I always like the Characters and Art more then the Story. His Origin and initial run was great, but once he lost the timer it kind of felt like it was just rehashing the same Plot over and over. Still great Art with Fantastic Character Designs to this day, just not the best Plot.
Speaking of Spawn and Game, one of my Favs was the Demons Hand on the Dreamcast. Never got to play that in the Arcades (never even knew it WAS in the Arcades for the longest time), but I LOVED it on the Dreamcast. Used to play it to all the time by myself and with Friends.
I did have a dreamcast and I still didn't hear about it... weird.
It had a crazy amount of Characters to Play as. You could even play as Bosses like Violator and his Brothers. Obviously some Characters where better then other, but you could still have a blast by playing even Joke Characters like the Human Detectives (Cant remember their names off the top of my head). Multiplayer Split Screen with my Friends was always a blast. You could also go through the Campaign in Co-op.
I used to burn the games to cd downloaded a bunch and would have tried this one if I knew about it. Well to be honest I wasn't into comics at the time so it wasn't on my radar.
I was always into Comics when I was a Kid, but didnt get into Collecting until my Teens in the 90's. The one that started it all was the 90's run of Ghost Rider. I saw Issue #1 on a Rack in a Groceries Store and the rest is history. Even my Alias Nobal Kain is a misspelling of 90's Ghost Rider of Noble Kale.
