Can someone explain to me this game's version of gold kryptonite? Cause I can't figure it out.
Ok one minute you see Lex has made some up in his lab. Then the group artistically adorn themselves with gold kryptonite shards (like Harley's hair).

Ok pre crisis gold K permanently took away a Kryptonian's powers, after that it seems to be proximity based and not permanent.

Now we get to the moment the group is gonna use it ***** spoilers ahead ****.

Superman hovers about 50 feet above the SS and laughs at them mocking them as a rag tag group that managed to defeat the greatest detective ever (Batman). While he is laughing and taunting them.

Captain Boomerang throws a boomerang that Superman catches but you see it cut his hand so it obviously was made or coated in Gold K.

Now here is the part I don't understand..........And whoever wrote this really doesn't seem to understand the mechanisms of Kryptonite at all. We here Superman sigh or something I think then he turns and uses eye beams to dissolve the boomerang.

What should probably have happened here is he immediately dropped out of the sky, now he is in proximity of all their shards..............at which point he is certainly doomed.........but then you wouldn't have a boss fight.

So then, my conclusion is this batch of Gold K that Lex made can pierce or cut a Kryptonian's skin, but it can't seem to do anything to their powers. I mean....I guess that is interesting in the grand scheme of things. I don't think there has ever been a gold K in DCU do exactly that.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

I think the safest bet is that they just didn't know what it did. They assume of its a stronger verison of kryptonite! Then they have to use that!

It should permanently remove his powers. Like how platinum kryptonite gives humans kryptonian powers

The classic gold kryptonite (talking silver age superman) took kryptonian's powers away permanently.

Check out Alan Moore's Superman story "Whatever happened to the Man of Tomorrow?". It's used there to great effect.
