Just an observation about Sweet Baby Games.
Going to say this upfront, I like the game but I 100% see its flaws, I enjoy the gameplay and the guns, I enjoyed the story (somewhat ill address this) but obviously I see its flaws I am not blind.
But whether you are on their side or against them we can all agree that having Sweet Baby Games tied to your property is just bad and their very involvement to matter how small can poison a large number of people against your game. I am not saying this is a 100% fact, but just an observation for recent releases vs their previous titles.

GW:R - It was present but the hype of the game the love of the previous allowed people to overlook it but lets just say I don't see many GW:R videos coming out and I saw videos of the first one for years and it didnt even get free DLC like Rag did.

Alan Wake 2 - I see no one talking about this game. I enjoyed it but for sure rolled my eyes during a lot of it and I can easily state my favorite missions and yes they are all Alan's and I could not care less about Detective Diversity.

Spiderman 2 - that quest was beyond stupid like even if you are for all the LGBT stuff you gotta admit that quest was beyond the pale stupid even from a writers perspective it was just stupid and did not need to be a thing, also the MJ parts were just as annoying if not more so and ruined the flow of an overall pretty decent game.

These tree games found success but they are not looked at as fondly as their previous titles and really its just that little bit that added the needed toxin to hurt them.

Now for SSKJL - It has been said that this story was written by the Arkham City and Knight teams, and I do believe them. There are parts that were genuinely interesting and I am interested in seeing where they go with it, but by bringing SBG into it even for as small a part as they played they introduced toxin and in such with a game already fighting the uphill battle of being a live service game, of having a MTX shop of having a battle pass and a story that even on its best parts was going to inflame a lot of peoples passion for DC, it was a bad move. Not to mention even leaving the game off with a defined yes we will be saving them and maybe let us save just 1 of them (Like Batman) it would have slightly edged the ire.

Anyway that is my rant, I enjoy it, I see the critisims as valid and agree with many of them and this was just about an observation I have made with games that work with this studio. Maybe games should just release what their writers want and not allow for a social credit score company to tell them that their game is good to go and it wont offend people who wont buy it anyway.

Rant over go back to yelling at each other.

'Woke' does fine if its subtle and doesn't ruin the story AND the game is good.

Nobody wants to be preached at no matter what ideology it maybe.

For Alan Wake 2, they changed the main character from specifically white to black. Can you imagine the outrage right now if any character was changed from black to white?

You know that Saga existed only as a concept back then? That trailer was just an early concept trailer. They weren't making the game back then. Saga in that concept trailer was barely a character (No dialogue, around 1 minute of screentime). we can also talk about more things in concept trailer that don't line up with the game (for example Alex Casey doesn't die in the game )

Saga (the white version) was a concept art/beta version of Saga when it was initially revealed multiple years before the game was properly being developed, so no, they didnt change saga from white to black, it was just old concept art for the character which they likely felt didnt fit once they started drafting the story

Yeah I saw that. Kind of blunt. Game still looks interesting enough for me to check out for other reasons. I've already been 'brainwashed' and indoctrinated by my generation's bs the new stuff doesn't work on us and we might as well be informed in what the correct goodthink is nowadays.

Honestly its no big deal if the story works. From what I saw they made her fit the 'strong woman' archetype but so be it par the course nowadays.

My theory is that SweetBaby Inc. will eventually change their weird baby-themed website in the future to eventually hide their involvement with any projects as the industry slowly catches on to how controversial they have become, and how gamers are beginning to realize their influence on making video games worse rather than better.

As it stands now, it's probably more of a list to show to potential producers and developers that they've been hired to work on some AA or AAA titles and that they'd somehow be beneficial to the development process. It's a useful webpage because it tells me which games to avoid purchasing.

Sure whatever works. Game hasn't sold amazingly well from what I can tell... Seems like Control did better. Honestly Alan Wake 2 looks like an adventure game with some mediocre action at best and some cool set sequences. Control I'm sure is more fun to play.

control didn't do better. Remedy confirmed that Alan Wake 2 sold over 50% more in 2 months than Control in 4 months
https://investors.remedygames.com/announcements/remedy-entertainment-plc-remedy-announces-sales-information-for-alan-wake-2/
Remedy games often sell porly on release but keep selling for years. control needed 15 months to sell 2 millions and now it is over 4 millions

Yeah I picked up control... in the humble bundle. Probably do something similar for Alan Wake 2 and who knows if Ill get around to playing it but it does have interesting elements from what I've seen.

Thanks for correcting me. Guess a lot of Alan Wake 1 fans... I still haven't finished it myself.

It wont be coming to steam, Epic actually produced it so its a 1st party game at that point and the Alan Wake IP now belongs to Epic sadly.

1000% agree, if its subtle and isnt rammed down your throat it can be there, it would at most get an eye roll from most, but just like with religion in the 50-90's its being rammed down our throats and does not make for a enjoyably experience.
