Should I play 'The Whispered World' before playing 'Silence'?

It plays in the same universe, but its not a continuation of the story. The first game is amazing, but you dont need to play it in order to understand Silence.

The Whispered World is an amazing game you really shouldn't skip, unless you can't stand it's 2D flavoured art style, there's no reason not to. It has both fun and challenging puzzles, lots of exploration and you get to experience the same universe but in a completely different way.
Whether you do it before or after you've played Silence, you should definitely give The Whispered World a try too if you enjoy a good point and click adventure game.

At the beginning of Silence you get a short summary of The Whispered World which helps to understand what this world "Silence" actually is. Playing The Whispered World is not required to understand the story of Silence, but it can help to dive even deeper into the story and the world of this game. And without having played The Whispered World you won't recognize some details and even some characters.
