Touchpad problems
I'm unable to free Noah from the heavy stone at the beginning of Silence. Can I somehow change the mouse sensitivity or something else? It's really hard to do the gestures with a touchpad, but I don't own a normal mouse or a controller. Meeeh...

Hello carolin_coralinart

Silence is neither optimized nor does it support touchpad controllers, unfortunately. Some of the game mechanics won't work with those.
Thank you for your answer, but I don't use a special touchpad controller. Just the normal built-in macbook touchpad.

Personally I'd suggest a game pad like a Xbox controller that connect wireless via a receiver or a PS controller. The built in touchpad just cannot manage some of the balance and drag mechanics of the game :-)

Addendum: we suggest a PS4 controller, least issues with these.

Wouldn't it be possible to add a mouse sensitivity option with a patch? I personally prefer the point-and-click genre because I love to play with the mouse and nothing else. :(

Mouse is an option, too.

but isn't a laptop touchpad a mouse, too?

Both are input devices and the functions are identical, yea. They work differently although. A mouse offers more precision and more buttons for more options, while a touchpad offers more convenience. Guess it is mostly a matter of space and game mechanics :-)

I assume you're trying to move your finger faster, if that's the case, you're making it harder for yourself. The trick is to move steady and slow, then you should be able to free Noah ;)

This is the technique I found worked best for me too.

I completed the whole game on my laptop using only the touchpad, and while it was frustrating a fair amount of the time (especially the instances where you have to balance on objects), it is doable with this method.

I still wish they'd include an option to turn off these elements in their games. I never feel that they really add anything to the experience.

Thanks for the tips! Moving the cursor very slowly worked fine. However, I'm nearly at the end now where Renie uses the beam to draw pictures into the sky. But I always get disturbed by the seeker. The controls are a bit laggy and I'm always to slow. Any suggestions on how to finish that part?

The best thing to do is first touch all of the white stars with your cursor, so they vanish from the sky, then start drawing the pattern by connecting the bluish stars. This helps because the pattern only resets if you break the sequence by touching an incorrect star. With the first few pictures I found I was able to draw them fast enough to beat the seeker. With the last one the seeker would always interrupt, so my solution was to move the cursor completely out of the way before the seeker is about to grab you, so when the cursor flies off in that moment it has less chance of hitting a star and breaking the pattern. After that you just need to carefully position the cursor over the seeker until it jumps down, then quickly continue drawing the pattern from where you left off. You may have to deal with the seeker twice on the last puzzle. It took me multiple attempts at re-drawing this one before I could get the timing just right.

Thank you for your help! I already tried it that way, but I think, my problem is that the cursor is too slow. I click around a lot and try to reach the stars, but the cursor won't move that much.
