I have the same controller with the same issue! I've been reading other posts that mention contorller issues and the game developers say that they only support a wired Xbox 360 controller at the moment, but intend to add more controller support in the future ... kind of annoying since it says full controller support on the games steam page.
I hope they address the issue soon.
I use a SpeedLink Xeox Pro Controller

I use the Kenel XPad driver
In the System it is recognized as XBox Controller
Bus 005 Device 002: ID 045e:028e Microsoft Corp. Xbox360 Controller
Metro 2033 Redux use the Pad perfect as it should All Buttons all axes used the right way.
But in Oddworld all is messed
Other games that work perfect are, Trine, Euro Truck Simulator2 ,
I have a F 310 pad and have tried it both ways:
DirectInput
Xinput
Neither one works properly.
As a workaround, I've set up my pad in DirectInput to "emulate" a mouse and keyboard using the Logitech Gaming Software.
Any game I have that doesn't have native support controllers, I use this method to play the game.
NONE of my games that have controller support give me trouble like this game, NONE!
At the most all I've ever had to do was switch the pad between either Xinput or DirectInput, that's it. Only time I have to set it up to emulate mouse/keyboard are some older games that do not have ANY controller support at all, which is an entirely different thing.
It says right on the store page Full Controller Support.
Typically, the F series Logitech pads work the same as a x360 pad with any game I have.
