Yeah, except, I don't get that choice. On Linux, it appears it doesn't recognise the controller as an XBox 360 controller, so you have to map every single command manually as all the controller buttons are unmapped.
Neither with the xpad nor the xboxdrv drivers (the latter apparently being the recommended one by the devs) does it give me an option to choose anything other than "Custom".
On the other hand, when I have my Steam Controller turned on, it gets recognised straight away. Too bad it's not really useful as a controller for action games, especially if you got smaller hands. When it detects the Steam Conroller though, I can not enter the controller setup menu to rebind the buttons. The menu entry is just grayed out. But the buttons are mapped, presumably in a sensible manner, and I can control Abe and have him perform actions.
Ubuntu 16.04.
Can someone help me?
You can either map every control yourself (because shipping a game with some form of default config is clearly too much to ask), or you could check the instructions on https://steamcommunity.com/app/314660/discussions/2/485623406953212192/
Wired Xbox 360 controllers work 'out of the box' on Windows, so it's odd that you're having problems. Official controller? Anything else plugged in that might be conflicting?
Try switching 'one button chant'.
