Can't get any controller to work

i've tried updating drivers, switching xinput on off, changing to controller mode and selecting the right controller in the menu. tried using both PS4 and XBOXONE controller. can only use analog sticks to move around the menu. NOTHING ELSE! help?

Windows 10 home, 64bit. i've tried everything and PS4/XBOXONE controllers work on every other game. DPAD dont work in menus just the analog stick, but nothing works once loaded into game. keyboard and mouse work fine.

EDIT: seem to off fixed it, had to go through steam big picture mode and enable ps4/xboxone controller in settings and register the controller :D

Using Windows 10 (build 14393, 64-bit) and Xbox One Controller driver version 10.0.14393.0 here.. can succinctly say that I was NOT having any issue using the controller prior to the June 1 Steam client update. I have set up the controller through Steam and it is recognised without any issue, however there is no input recognised whatsoever in-game, and the controller configuration option within the Options menu in-game is greyed out when the input mode is set to Controller. Toggling X-Input does nothing, nor does using default nor custom profiles. I have also tried launching through Steam's Big Picture mode, and also changing the driver for the Xbox One controller to use generic (and setting it up through Steam accordingly), however this doesn't resolve the issue.

E: Have also tried turning off controller support in Steam, and I can use the controller to do basic operations in the menu, though I can only use the analogue stick and A and B buttons. Tried following the instructions in the gamespeak menu but no input was being registered.

Same. I tried Xbox 360 wired controller and LogitechF310 wired controller and neither work! Also when input is set to controller, the controller layout option is grey and cannot be accessed. Any help would be appreciated.

Same issue with a wired Xbox One controller running Windows 10.
I can't access the controller layout when input is set to controller.
Accessible while set to keyboard yet after selecting 'xbox one' or 'custom' and mapping it, it still does not register any input other than analog stick and buttons A and B on the main menu (even when reverted back to controller input).
It recognises controller input as it allows me to map controller inputs into the custom layout as mentioned above so controller isn't faulty yet game speak wont register any input.
Drivers are up to date and files verified, unsure as to what the issue is?

Same issue here, Xbox 360 controller stopped working for absolutely no reason, platform is Windows 10/Steam. Was working fine previously.

Now it works during the menus, but then stops working in game. Please let me know if there is a fix for this.

Also having this problem suddenly. Thought I'd bricked my save or something. Works in menus but in game it no longer does. Win10/360 controller.

Well thank you ! It works now.

But I still don't know why I have to do that in order to play the game. Because before this issue it worked fine. :/
