Thanks! Keep in mind though- "Daggerfall in Space" is a long-term directional goal. The game isn't really much of an RPG right now. To answer your next question- there aren't even any NPCs at the moment :) The idea is to slowly work in that direction over time!
> is there actually guys who help you in your quests and stuff?
Not yet no!
> is this open to mods?
Yes and I agree that mods are great! There have been a bunch of mods to the game already posted here:
http://www.nexusmods.com/rodina/
Unfortunately I'm not certain how well they will work with the Steam version of the game. I don't have Steam Workshop support yet so there's no guarantees right now :P
> the followers question could probably be answered by the gameplay videos but i havent been able to watch any for almost 2 weeks, no matter how many times i reinstall flash player.
Sorry to hear that! Sounds like it's above my pay grade, but I wish I could help. Are you able to watch Youtube videos or are those broken too? If you can, you can see the gameplay trailer here:

Cheers!
so yeah, mods is def good, followers will be great, i dont like the sound of facing off a rampant alien horde in a cold lonely universe.
Mods work fine with steam, You just have to install them in the folder steam puts the game which by default will be [Drive of Steam Directory]:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Rodina. I've tried most of the mods currently on the nexus and baring a few update issues, they all work fine.
The game is awsome, by the way. I wish you good luck with making it.
Did Nexus actually do something to warrant this or are you just saying people will be paranoid about it?
I do not trust Workshop at all and won't use it unless I have to. Nexus has been around longer, and it isn't subject to anything like the censorship rampant on Workshop. Never mind that a huge operation like Steam will punish first and ask questions later when it comes to even the most dubious copyright claims.
The Nexus used to be good, but over the past year, give or take, it's really gone to the dogs. The site is slow, unstable and very unreliable. It's my last resort for getting mods nowadays.
yes paranoid, it took me a while to convince a friend to mod skyrim.
cut down on and expand on? You have huge areas down already, although more can't really hurt. Rpg stats? Both friendly and unfriendly ships/stations trade, law enforcement, faction opinion, etc. eg civilization? Dungeon mazes? Survival and crafting? Main and optional questing? Melee combat, SPELLS?(who doesn't like space wizards?) Would take immune to lasers and critical laser weakness for sure.
