As i wrote, they would support FSX:SE in Future. At this time, they need to look, what has changed between FSX Boxed and FSX:SE. And prepare their Software to work with FSX:SE
I've just installed this and it is working fine. Did you use the installer to add the files to the Steam version? If not then it's likely not been setup correctly.
The legacy SimConnect DLLs come as installable files in the SDK folder. To install:
1. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\FSX\SDK\Core Utilities Kit\SimConnect SDK\LegacyInterfaces\FSX-XPACK. You should see a file in here named SimConnect.msi. Run this file BEFORE you start FSX.
2. Let the installer do its thing. Once it is done, fire up FSX and try installing some of your add-ons.
Anyway, I can add a couple:
1. Level D 767 - works if you manually install the FSUIPC 4.938 update first. This is the one that came out on December 20 to support FSX:SE. I also downgraded SimConnect DLL above, but not 100% sure this is necessary for this one.
2. iFly 737 NG - works if you downgrade the SimConnect DLL as described above. When using the default SimConnect DLL version that ships with FSX:SE, you will get warnings about an unsupported version of FSX during the install. This leads to black gauges and panels. Downgrading the SimConnect DLL fixed all of this, and the plane works fine now.
I will test more of my add-ons today and follow up. Hope this helps some folks.

Awesome job, thank you so much for describing this and relaying the info on editing DLL.xml
Luckily I copied my C drive USER and FSX folders before I deleted them and began using the Steam version exclusively. Well, maybe not "luckily" - I'm a veteran of the flightsim wars. LOL
It is nice to see the hidden flight sim community burst onto the scene on Steam. I knew everyone was out there somewhere.
