Adding Scenery doesn't work?
Just thought I'd give back a little...
I've owned older versions of MSFS but just getting back into it and got FSX: SE (Falcon BMS too) and had a problem with adding scenery. For almost a week now I've been struggling with using the interface to add any scenery. I'd follow all the directions but once I navigated to the folder with the scenery and texture folders, I'd click OK but nothing would happen except the path text would disappear. I just figured this was one of the things that was broken with the new version. But then I read a readme file in one of my scenery downloads that explained a glitch with Windows 7 users.

Once you navigate to the correct folder and click OK, you then need to click anywhere in the white space of the file list box above the path field. Viola!

I'm sure this is old new to everyone who had FSX box version but a key piece of info for newbies.

I'll be posting my Nvidia and in-game graphics settings later to maybe help out more nubies.

Does not work for me. Why?

Well I think I found a solution, at least it works on my PC. I`ll not repeat all the steps described above. When you're in application on settings/scenery library and you click Add Area:
1. Select Addon Scenery folder and click OK
2. Select the scenery folder you want to add and click OK
3. Now the tricky but very simple part. You should see in the next screen the Scenery and Texture folders of the scenery you want to add. If you'll click OK nothing will happen. So instead of clicking OK button just click anywhere inside that screen, let's say just bellow Texture folder... and Voila you should see the screen disappearing and the added scenery in the Scenery Library
4. Click OK and the scenery files generation should start.
That's it. Let me know if it works

PS. If it doesn't work, when you're at step 3 try to create another folder (named as you wish) in that dialog box so you'll see the folder you just created and the other two folders (Scenery and Texture). Then drag&drop the Scenery and Texture folder into your new created folder and continue with step 3. It should work

Excellent! I finally got it! Thanks to you I can now finally see, approach, and land on the CV/69 carrier with the ILS that shows up on your GPS about 18 nm off the coast from Pensacola. Aft starboard elevator works and everything, AND it works in Steam's multiplayer where I can host as well. Thank you very much!

It DOES WORK as per your instructions, and it works great. I kept looking for this add on scenery folder for no reason, and other explanations that meant nothing. I FINALLY have the CV69 aircraft carrier off the coast of Pensacola with no problems now. Thanks for the help.

Scenery adding it's much easier with the Scenery Config editor :-) Use them with admin right!
