ICE-AI Traffic is back as SKY-AI

Controversial, freeware AI program "ICE-AI" has returned as a new group called SKY-AI. They are making it clear this time, that they are only making an installer, and do not own the freeware models that they include in the installer. If you have ever used WOAI, you know it is a painstaking and tedious process to install individual packages, and SKY-AI solves that. If you would like to check it out, you can find it here.

If you want the best freeware package/installer out there, then yes. It is easy on frames, has immaculate liveries, and pretty good schedules. It does not have a steam edition compatible installer as of yet, which means you would have to manage it manually, but if you wait a couple more days a Steam Edition installer should be coming out shortly.

As they have not asked the permission of the copyright holders of the aircraft apparently this constitutes massive piracy. I thought Steam did not condone this.

I guess they are using freeware models only and they are not making money from that, I don't see the problem

The designer of the planes owns the copyright. Stealing planes from them to use against the express wishes of the copyright owners is illegal. The fact the planes are distributed by the designers free does not change the fact that they hold the copyright and these people are not licenced to do this.

Freeware models are not illegal They are free if used according to the licence granted by the developer. If that licence is not obtained (as in this case) the use is ilegal http://www.templetons.com/brad/copymyths.html

Let's not get so strict here because if we do, then all the freeware models in the internet are illegal. I can assure you that none of the tons of enthusiastic developers out there making free models and repaints to download so you can fly with the airplane you want has asked for permission to use things like "boeing" or "airbus" or their models like "747" or "dreamliner" or "A380" and let's not get started with the airlines (names, colors, logos...).

I think these guys from SKY AI Traffic are aware of the limits they can cross and the risks they can run, but they are making a huge effort to make the simulator a little bit more realistic and I think it is great.

I use this with the SE, no issues at all. I use the old one which is ICE-AI. You need to follow the installation instructions for it to work with the SE.

Do not get the Sky AI traffic addon, it came with really annoying adware which effed up my computer and took ages to get rid of, the installer WAS downloaded from the official website then it littered adware all over my computer without my knowledge until it gave me fake security warnings in my browser.

I have run the exe and install it in the Steam folder. But I see no modified Traffic.
