Saitek X52 Pro profile necessary?
Greetings,

I've just picked up FSX and have a question about the profile for the X52 Pro. Looking at the settings in FSX, I have identified the controller and noticed there is column for setting the configurations for a joystick. Would experienced users recommend configuring it through FSX itself or to use the Saitek profiler? And if I do go the Profile route, should I clear all the settings in the joystick column with in FSX to avoid conflict?

Much appreciate your thoughts... be well, Mattaio

I've owned the X52 Pro (joystick and throttle quad) for over 6 years now. I can honestly say I've never needed to setup a profile. I just plugged it in, configured the controls and key assignments within FSX and flew :D

I use the profiler since I fly many different type planes. The profiler will set all the buttoms slides and toggles 6 different ways. The profiler will confiqure a fix prop vs a varible prop vs a turbo prop vs a small jet and a large jet. I also have a profile for amphibian planes.

The profiler will set key presses in normal, advance and record macro sequences. You can also combine FSUIPC and get more control on certain settings that eliminate the spikes that occur in the axes.

You do not have to clear any settings or change any key assignments.
