I can confirm that once the scenery.cfg is correctly configured the VFR works well and the imagery around the Solent (S England) is well up-to-date. It looks great from above 1000 ft.

might be your problem too?
In the meantime you can manually run the VFR Scenery installers if you are encountering an issue. These can be located here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\FSX\DLC\320986\_DLCConfigData\_InstallDLC.bat
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\FSX\DLC\320987\_DLCConfigData\_InstallDLC.bat
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\FSX\DLC\320988\_DLCConfigData\_InstallDLC.bat
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\FSX\DLC\320989\_DLCConfigData\_InstallDLC.bat
Having run these you should see all 4 packs appear in FSX:SE. There are two entries in the scenery library for each of the packs, this is expected, one for the photo terrain texture and one for the mesh.
Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused you and be assured that we are working with Just Flight to attempt to remedy this issue as soon as possible.
If we can help you with anything else relating to FSX:SE please let us know.

Do you have any more ideas? Cheers.

When you are back at main Settings Screen click on Customise Button, then Scenery Tab. Then in the Terrain and Water section put every Slider fully over to the right hand side. Also on same page make sure tick is in Land Detail Textures. Ok button again.
Those settings look very good on my girlfriends old comp at 1280x1024, and get a good fps, and its an old quad core 3ghz cpu, before the i3, i5's etc, and a HD6870 graphics card. Think the VFR looks very effective once you get around 1000ft +, i probably could do with a bit of AA to remove jaggies but apart from that i think it looks quite good, especially over countryside.
We are currently investigating this matter and it would really help us if anyone affected could email our support team with a copy of their Scenery.cfg file. Examining these files will allow us to investigate the matter more quickly.
If you are affected please send your Scenery.cfg file to dtgflightsupport@dovetailgames.com with the subject line “VFR Scenery packs”.
If you have are also running a boxed version of FSX you can find the file here:
C:\Program Data\Microsoft\FSX-SE\Scenery.cfg
If you are just running the Steam version you can find it here:
C:\Program Data\Microsoft\FSX\Scenery.cfg
If FSX: Steam Edition is also showing you any errors messages please can you send us a screenshot or text file of them too.
Thank you for all of your help with this and we of course will update you all with more information as we have it.
