fs-Recorder
has anyone else been able to install, record, and playback in any form with fs-recorder?
I downloaded FS-recorder, turned off my AV and installed FS-Recorder version 1.3.3.1, and then proceeded to record a flight in the grandcanyon in my F-14, from takeoff at KGCN until i crashed into a cliff in the canyon, then replayed it back, making sure the recording(1 sec intervals)...seems to wiggle waggle a tiny bit, but overall it appears to work ok for me
My next testing will have to be with moderate AI spawned in to see if I can record them as well as myself, not sure if AI get recorded or just my own flight

I had the gsx demo, but I deleted it a month ago as it was causing other problems.
ok....so you are just simply trying to have the animations move baggage cart...tug...etc?
so with your sliders allowing for those animations-
the main exit(shift-1)
jetway(shift-j)
baggage door(shift E-2)
2nd baggage door(rear) (shift E-3)

once the doors are open, the respective equipment should move on their own

It is gone now, so it should not be causing any problems.
I can't seem to get this to work. I have installed 1.331 and I get the error saying that it's incompatible with my current version, I go in game and it isn't an option on the tool bar. I have verified my game twice, reinstalled sim connect twice but to no avail. I have tried all the things tat have previously been mentioned in this forum.
mikeytwc, I would appreciate it if you could take the trouble to detail for me step by step exactly what you have done to get ver 3131 working. I have installed all the simconnects and do get the first message regarding the version when starting FSX however when I click OK I then get a message " simconnect initialization failure of the fsrecorder module and fsrecorder will not be available"
Can you please help.
all i have done is install the 1.331 version, and edited the exe.xml file i believe it was(states in the program which xml file to edit)
then install the simconnects and the msxml.exe as i will outline here

step 1, Install all the simconnects that DTG doesnt automatically install for you

keep in mind these are simconnect.msi files...just double click to install

where my FSX:SE is installed into my E:\ drive
there are actually (4) simconnects in FSX:SE

E:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\FSX\SDK\Core Utilities Kit\SimConnect SDK\lib
(install this one first)

E:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\FSX\SDK\Core Utilities Kit\SimConnect SDK\LegacyInterfaces\FSX-RTM
(install this one 2nd)

E:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\FSX\SDK\Core Utilities Kit\SimConnect SDK\LegacyInterfaces\FSX-SP1
(install this one 3rd)

E:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\FSX\SDK\Core Utilities Kit\SimConnect SDK\LegacyInterfaces\FSX-XPACK (YOU SHOULD NOT NEED TO INSTALL THIS ONE)
DTG now includes the install for the xpack since the last update/patch

the 2nd thing to do is install the C++ redistributable

E:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\FSX\_CommonRedist\vcredist\2005
there are 2 files here

vcredist_x86.msi (to install for 32 bit)
vcredist_x64.msi (to install for 64 bit)
just double click on the pertinant one for your system, should be 64bit

just to make sure it is installed, the XML parser should also be installed, it should have been loaded already by fsx

E:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\FSX\Installers
msxml.msi
double click this file to install

install Directx 9.0c
E:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\FSX\_CommonRedist\DirectX\Jun2010

then start up the sim and check that it is available in the list, you should be able to record and playback at this point
dll.xml file

In FSX for every add-on module a launch entry in the file dll.xml is required. The entry for FS Recorder is added automatically by the Setup.msi installer.

In some cases the dll.xml file might be damaged by add-on installers. Also there have been reports, that in some cases the order of entries in the dll.xml file can play a role and cause some add-ons not to load correctly.

If you can't get FS Recorder working, and you have (or had) other FSX add-ons installed, try one of the following:

Download the free FSX DLL.XML Viewer and Repair Utility from the Flight1 website (read the included instructions!) and try to repair the dll.xml file or to change the order of the launch entries.

Or, to find out, if the problem is the dll.xml file:
Uninstall FS Recorder, find the dll.xml file on your system, rename it (e.g. to dll.xml.bak), then reinstall FS Recorder using the Setup.msi installer (it will create a new dll.xml file). If FS Recorder works then, it is clear, that the problem is in your original dll.xml file, and you have to repair it or to change the lauch order.

mikeytwc, many thanks for the quick response, I will now run through all your instructions and report back when I have done so.
I have followed your instructions to the letter but I am still getting the same message at startup which is "A Problem occured during simconnect initialization of the FSRecorder Module! The Recorder will not be available." I did have to change the sim name in the User Roaming Folder from FSX-SE to FSX in order to get the recorder to reinstall after I had uninstalled it however I have now changed it back to FSX-SE is this the correct thing to do?,
Mykeytwc Thanks to you sorted I have deleted my disk edition of FSX done a reinstall of windows kept my steam edition of FSX but updated now FSRecorder is working albeit limited.
limited is as expected as i explained in my previos post...I hope it wrks well for your intended purposes...
mmike

Thanks to all of you. I have installed the 1.33 version in my FSX-SE, I have installed all the simconnects, too, and I think it works very well. I have recorded a flight, and then I have flown with myself in close formation. I also think that FS-Recorder is one of the best addons ever created for FSX.
I have only a little question: is there any way to avoid the "OK requesting message" when starting FSX? Once you have said that you trust the software, I think the warning is useless.
It is not a very important matter, but if it is possible I would appreciate any help. Thanks in advance,
Felix FdC
the author has yet to update the software due to rl issues....if he does, it would be nice, but curreently i would say we have to live with it
Thanks, mikeytwc. It doesn't matter, the important thing has been recovering the FS-Recorder. Best regards, Felix
Ive got FSrecorder 1.331 working too on FSX SE. I also have the disked version of FSX installed allongside, towhere i installed the latest FSRecorder version 2.1, with the installer. After install of 2.1, Then overwrite the FSRecorder.dll, with the one from FSRecorder 1.331 (make sure you rename the name of the 1.331 versions DLL to " FSRecorder_FSX ". After starting FSX-SE you will find the fsrecorder menu at the topscreen menu (ingame) under Addons.
