Every developer we are partnered with gets invited to take part in a private beta for all updates. Once we have their feedback, and have made any necessary changes, we then offer the update to everyone in a public open beta. You can find details of these in our news section and here on the forum.
Long story short, we go to great lengths to make sure that all updates are available to try by anyone who wants to give them a go before we release them live. In fact this update had two rounds of open beta and developer beta over the last three months.
It is why the team at Orbx had an update of their own lined up and ready to go for players.

Hi Rob, thanks for getting in touch, VRS Tacpack is a third party add-on which is independent of FSX: SE. For all help and advice about using that particular add-on please contact their development team directly via their website - http://www.vrsimulations.com/tacpack.htm
Thanks again for letting us know about this and if we can help you with anything else FSX: SE related please let us know.

I hope you didnt find my post argumentative, as that was not the intention of my post.
Are your dev partners the only ones who you send notice of the upcoming beta, or do you send notification to all devs who you have listed as known devs?? I know its not possible to know every single dev, and it would be unreasonable for us to believe you should.
again thanks for all you do to assisst us, the community in making FSX what it should have been years ago...I believe we all appreciate the efforts of DTG.
Look at all the videos and screen shots and tell me what you see. It's a bunch of ILS approaches in airliners and tutorials on how to fly GA airplanes.
I don't think you will find that many "morally" opposed to combat - I used Combat flight Simulator for that fix when I needed it, or DCS or a handful other other combat orientated - I just like GA and practicing "real" flight vice flying I will never be able to do in a combat simulator. So why bring combat into a civilian GA Commercial Aviation Simulator when other better adapted solutions exist for the combat crowd. I tould be akin to putting an A2A Commanche into DCS to shoot ILS approches in Battle of Britian 2 - just doesn't fit.
Having tacpak available increases the market share for FSX...a genre that needs all the help it can get these days. Nothing like having real world to fly in as opposed to just a patch of fictionlized land. FSX offers just that...the ability to off air combat pretty much anywhere.
