Microsoft Flight Simulator X: Steam Edition

Microsoft Flight Simulator X: Steam Edition

GEX and UTX.
I have installed GEX and UTX in the appropriate subfolder in FSX Steam and get no error message. When I start FSX steam, it doesn't see anything and the scenery files are not listed when you go to the scenery configuration screen. Should GEX and UTX work in FSX Steam? Thanks for any input.

Yes they work fine in Steam, are you using the latest installers? DId you run the config utilities that comes with the add ons?

Once you've installed GEX you then need to run the GEX program to install the textures into FSX.

There's a (very) detailed guide on installing and recommended settings for UTX from Flight1 support here;

Worth the effort, I use UTXeu and a few GEX regions

Thank you Morag. I'll look into it.
Ever fix this?
Sorry for the necro but it is as easy as _ Run As Administrator.

I have a problem with GEX. i run this along with many other add ons in particular UTX 2.5 which i have no problem with.
I down loaded the program and went to the interface to install the wrapper but when i click on it from both the start menu or the desktop the computer tells me that my computer cant open the app.
The main program is installed in programs/86(x86) and the desktop points to /(86x) flight1 where there are 8 files including the interface at only 2KB. that dont work either.
Ive tried putting all the files in one place and re directing the path but to no avail.
What am i doing wrong?
Help... im running out of hair

i have found the gexinterface.exe file in appdate but it contains 0KB. How can this be?
Before downloading i switched off all of my Norton protection as well as defender.
At the same time i down loaded Activ sky and that has no issues apart from me
