Carenado and their FMS
I'm using FSX:SE and I've yet to be able to get the navigraph data to load into the FMC for the Citation, Hawker or C90 GTX. Luckily i'm using a workaround with a GTN-750 so I can still fly these aircraft. It also seems from talking to Carenado that there is definitely a problem using their FMS with STEAM (the boxed version of FSX is OK) so I can't be the only one. But does anyone yet have a solution or is anyone looking into this failure on the STEAM side ?

I'm glad you posted this, I've been looking at a couple of these aircraft. I have several other Carenado aircraft that work perfectly in FSX:SE. Is the navigraph data that won't load the default data that comes with the package or the updated data you can purchase separately?

Both. I did purchase the additional data originally released for the Citation, that didn't work, and neither does any of the default navigraph data. It seems the issue may lie if you have had a dual install with the boxed and Steam versions at the same time on the same machine. Although now I have fully removed the boxed version and only use Steam but the memory must linger to the extent it is still broke.

Thanks for your response. So since I only have the Steam version installed I may not have the problem...I'm still a little hesitant since your uninstall of the box version didn't solve it.

The Navigraph entry needs to be added to the FSX-SE, DLL.XML. Can't tell you why Carenado hasn't been able to sort out how? You can do it manually.

Thanks.

Well the entry for carinavigraph.dll and the CMeteoxml.dll are both in my dll.xml file and it still didn't work.

Sorry to hear that. I hope Carenado gets around to straightening this out.

The problem I had was the directory is called FSX - not FSX-SE, and that was created by Steam. I have a brand new machine with only the Steam edition installed. Actually, Carenado was looking for the "FSX-SE" directory (probably to install the Navigraph data to the dll) but couldn't find it. I manually added the info to the dll.xml in the FSX directory and as soon as I fired up the sim, it started updating the FMC database. Also, make sure the spelling is the same for "CarenadoNavigraph.dll" in both the dll.xml and the CarenadoNavigraph.dll Hope this helps.

Thankyou bosoxnh. Putting the calling code into the dll.xml file in the REDUNDANT FSX directory has done the trick. Now why doesn't Carenado know about this??? At least when I put in a ticket to Carenado they gave up trying to fix my installation pretty quick and offered me another plane FOC ..... so now I've got a free Diamond Da42 and, thanks to boxsoxnh, my FMS now works in the Hawker and King Air GTX ......... but I'll stick with the GTN-750 conversion in my Citation II:steamhappy:

The problem I had was solved by pointing the installer to FSX, not FSX-SE. There is no FSX-SE directory and that's where the Carenado installer tries to install it. (I have purchased a number of Carenado products that were in the FSX catagory on their website, not FSX Steam, and never had a problem with any of them on FSX Steam.)
My experience was the same as bosoxnh wrote above on March 6 (see that post if mine isn't clear). Good luck.

As discussed above, I am unable to update my Navigraph database for the Carenado King Air 350 with FSX-SE. It says "Please Wait - Building Navigraph Database." I can access the relevant DLL.XML file, which I can view but not edit. No helpful information found so far on the Carenado website. I also have other Carenado aircraft that should work with FSX-SE which I will reinstall once this is resolved.
