TacPack?

I have some interest in the TacPack addon, but also some curiosity. Do you have to buy particular extra planes for its functions or can the existing and freeware military planes make use of it as well?

I did take a quick look at one freeware plane specially labeled for TacPack, but it was all-around very poor quality in flight, function, and appearance.

I have the TacPack, the add-on will only work on aircraft that has been designed for it's use.

Are there many TacPack qualified freeware planes of quality? Or is one stuck with paying too much money for more addons? (The listing of qualified planes on the TacPack site appears very old and long outdated.)

I've always been a big fan of the F-15E Mud Hen. But having no luck there. May have to look into that F-35 as an alternative. Or find a way to tacpack-adapt my F-4 Phantom II.

Well, I checked out that F-35 and a couple of other freewares out there and didn't like them at all. There is no way I'm going to spend $50 - $60 for a single plane (that I may or may not like) for a $25 game. So, until I can find an adaptation or mod for planes that I have and like, I guess TacPack will just sit on the shelf.

I don't have tacpack but there's also the FSXBA F-18 that can be used with it.

I will check that one out. Thanks. Never been a big fan of the F/A-18, but who knows... Cannot find a decent version of my favored F-15E anywhere. I think I have downloaded every one that Google can find and none of them were worth loading (most were pre-FSX versions.)

Apparently, it's a moot point - I run in DX10 mode and I have learned that TacPack runs properly and fully only in DX9. I'm not stepping backward and lose some of the planes and features I have now.
