GTN-750 GPS Does NOT Display
I purchased and installed GTN750 for FSX-SE - followed all the instructions - read the manual.

I am totally lost as after loading my GTN750 configured airplane for flight, I do not see the GTN750 nor do I see anywhere to display it.
Two Flight-1 entries appear under Views \ Instrument Panel.

I installed both of these files as well but I still do not get any display of the GTN750
1) the Visual Studio 2013 X86 ridistributable
2) The SimConnect file

I know for sure that the Visual Studio 2013 X86 is installed because it shows up in my Windows Installed Programs.
But when I ran the SimConnect.msi file nothing really happened other than a very quick Microsoft Flight Simulator dialogue box that quickly went away - how can I tell if it is installed?
I found after a Windows search, two folders in C:\Windows\WinSxS that have SimConnect.dll files in folders called
C:\Windows\WinSxS\x86_microsoft.flightsimulator.simconnect_1ed9da73c880e429_10.0.62615.0_none_69960aa860d87067
C:\Windows\WinSxS\x86_microsoft.flightsimulator.simconnect_67c7c14424d61b5b_10.0.61259.0_none_55f5ecdc14f60568

These files and folders are dated with the date of the FSX installation.
Are these the SimCoonect files referred to in the GTN750 instructions?

I just do not understand!
I do not know what to expect after a flight has been launched. How does the GTN750 get displayed - is there a hotkey to press to get the 750 to popup?

I have posted a request in the Flight-1 SimForum but so far only one person answered and that did not help me as I had already done (as above) what he suggested.

Can anyone help me to get this GTN-750 to display.

I have the GTN 750 Dane. Here is what I remember of install (there are 2 things to install here) ....

1. You have to install the Garmin GTN 750 trainer that is linked in the product page as 'free gtn750/650 product' just above the main downloads. This is a Garmin trainer of the product that is required to make the Flight 1 software work. It does not need to be running to use the add-on, just installed.

2. Next install the main flight 1 Garmin 750 software you need from the main links in the product page.

3. Now with both of those installed you should see an Icon on your desktop for the Fligh1 GTN 750 configuration software - F1GTN Configuration

To install the GTN into an aircraft. I will use default Airbus A321, as an example

1. Start the F1Gtn Configuration tool without FSX Running.

2. Highlight the Airbus from the list and select configure GTN. In here you can position the Gtn750 and so on, but for now just select 'enter' at bottom left to take you back to the aircraft list.

3. Now in the list you will see the red flight 1 icon beside the Airbus to show it has installed. It will now be installed in the Airbus whenever you start FSX. The Configuration tool only needs to be used now when you want to add it to a new aircraft.

4. Close the configuration tool and start FSX with a flight in the Airbus.

Now when in a flight with the Airbus, at the top left corner you should see a small tab for the GTN stack. Just click that to open the Gtn750. The 'power on' button for the GPS is the round one at the top left of the unit. Click on that for a couple of seconds to power it up.

This is an example of putting it into an aircraft without a custom panel, where it's just used a pop-up, but is not physically built into the aircraft.

If all this does not work I would suggest uninstalling your original install and start from the beginning with a new download of the trainer, and a new download of the flight 1 software.

Thank you very much Steve for your very indepth reply.

I have done everything you indicated.
What I am getting when I launch my flight is the rectangular Stack BUT it is completely black, nothing to see and no buttons to press.

Just to be clear Dane what you are getting does not even look like a GPS unit powered off? .... I say that because the GTN750 is powered off by default.

Is it just a solid black rectangle without any features or shape? .... If that is the case I would try to install a second time with anti-virus and UAC turned off on your PC.

If that did not work I would contact flight 1 for suggestions, or maybe visit the support forum.

Hi Steve,
First - thanks for all your input, I am now dealing with Flight 1 to try and resolve my issue.
But just to answer your question I get a small vertical BLACK rectangle in the top left corner - I believe this is the Stack - not able to even activate the GTN-750 from the Stack.
