as the structure of FSXSE is similar to FSX boxed (I don't have any Steam DLCs, being an old customer), you might try to point p3d to FSXSE sceneries: some will work, some won't (mostly airports): still with p3dv4 a few places work correctly
concerning aircrafts, except for p3d v4, you must know the specific files belonging to the desired aircraft to copy from Gauges and Effects folder, beyond the main folder into Simobjects; I managed to have a few choppers and a few aircrafts work (not complex ones like PMDG, of course)
bottom line: you might try, because it is a totally reversible attempt
if I remember right, the first one and the Extended were for FSX only, and I don't remember what I did to have the Extended work into p3d (yet it was not difficult, I remember, after looking in forums)
instead, the release before the Pro (32bit) prompts for which simulator to install into
If you want cross platform compatability dont bye through Steam. Everything thats sold for FSX through Steam is available elseware.
Plus if you want something for P3D you'll need to consider if it will play nicely with an x64 based simulator (which P3D is).
That said most items bought outside of Steam generally have a P3D x64 version available for purchase.
Cheers
