Other than that I know Microsoft security essentials was messing with the GTN:

Did you remember to install the Garmin trainer again? ... I think the latest download version needs the new trainer on the flight 1 page.
Edit: Just in case, i will do one repair.
Maybe try the whole installation with AV etc off and running both FSX and GTN as administrator. Are you using DX10 preview?
My money is gone, but lesson is learned: Never ever buy any product without nothing but perfect customer support and complete product. This now became just rippoff for me but I can only blame myself for being naive. I will most certainly never ever buy any F1 product again and all companies alike. I got my share fo premium FSX froducts in my garage, but this was by far worst support experience ever.
F1 customers be warned!
Sorry to hear that Tommy.
Is the trainer programme software working? ..... turning on etc.
I see Tommy.
For info if you can't get the Garmin trainer software working it is a problem with that. If the trainer is turning on then it's a F1 problem.
The trainer software needs to work on it's own.
You are giving up too soon my friend this is fixable ..... sometimes it takes me several months to fix flightsim problems :-)
You are aware MOST aircraft do NOT have a native window made for the gps?
Some aircraft require you to install the gps via their configuration programs, like A2A.
You can also add a window for it in aircraft where it is not natively supported.
