No idea, but you can fly with a keyboard and mouse. It's not ideal, but it works.

is it harder with the keyboard and mouse?
Dear god it's a plane your flying not driving a car or truck maybe think more about getting a Joystick lol

I don't know if it would work, but you'll be severely restricted with a wheel.

If you feel that you're interested in aviation and look forward to more flying even in other sims or even space sims, get a joystick. Otherwise, for FSX, using the keyboard would do nicely unless you intend to fly a helicopter.

You could get the wheel to work but it'd be rubbish because you're missing an axis for pitch. Rubbish doesn't mean it won't be entertaining though, just that it'll be entertaining for all the wrong reasons.

okay, ive tried to use all keyboard and mouse controls but i still cant adjust the angle of the flight the plane just wants to go all the way up and then when it becomes airbourne just stalls and goes plummeting back down because i cant move the flaps to level it out, it wouldent help that i dont know near enough about flying a plane, but thats why i got this because i want to learn the game looks like fun, ill have to get a joystick eventually.
Having a cheap joystick is better than using mouse/keyboard, I'll assure you that by using a joystick you will be able to take-off and fly easily and start to enjoy/appreciate your flight sim, landings are another story, just be sure you get a joystick with a twist hand grip for your rudder.

I have a G27 wheel and I can't help but imagine that control using it would be worse than with a keyboard and mouse. Get a flight stick!
