REX NOT INJECTING
I have followed all the instructions on Rex instalation and how it runs. I have another version on anothe PC which runs perfectly.
This version does not inject it textures. If I select an airport and its weather I load it and REX says start FSX manualy. When I start thsim at the specific airport the weather displayed on Rex does not inject.
I purchased FSX PACKAGE which included REX. I am unsure as to the reason. It states Rex should be installed outside the FSX instalation folder. However Steam installs it inside?
Any help please....

Maybe I did not catch exactly what you were meaning, but REX4 TD (current Steam DLC) only injects textures (clouds, runwways, sun, ...), but does not change the weather, which is still managed by FSX weather choices, unless you get ASN.

Ok maybe I am expecting it to do the same and load weather stations as REX OVERDRIVE.
Got confused as it allows a person to put an airport in. If the airport shows rain ,I tell it to load that theme. Then it tells me to start FSX which shows only fair weather at that airport. I did not use the FSX real weather part.
Secondly the runways are all STD fsx and do not show any of the thmes I preload in REX?
Not sure why the std FSX runway textures are showing?

So you downloaded also the REX configuration tool from the Steam tools ?
The airport you enter in REX4 is used to choose from the texture palette, the ones that will fit best this particular weather and airport.

Did you start the REX configuration tool in admin mode? It has to overwrite defaults textures when it installs them

I dont think I did, i will try. Rex does start and run but does not inject textures. I will try in admin mode. Wierd that it should run way. I will let you know.

I tried running it as administrator. I chose an airport in the theme section. Told it to generate the weather, which was a thunderstorm. it said it was generating textures and then told me to start FSX. I ran FSX and loaded the airport and it kept the default FSX weather. No rain etc. I have set REX up correctly on FSX etc. The reason I know is I have another version on another PC and it is set up the same. For some starne reason it does not inject textures etc.HELP please

REX texture direct only injects textures in FSX, but does not change the current weather, which stays under control of FSX weather. So if you had default fine weather in FSX, it will only show some clouds textures, but no thunderstorm textures. You need to change the weather to thunderstorm in FSX weather to see that thunderstorm with REX thunderstorm textures.
An alternative to FSX weather is to use ASN which will inject weather, but not textures.

I reloaded .net framework to no avail

REX TD requires Microsoft SQL lite to be installed, but I don't remember which version, I don't have access to my rig for a few days, I think it's 2012 but not sure. Maybe you can try to install the latest one anyway. If somebody can give the info from the installed programs...

REX can be installed traditionally with the 7GB install file -or- you may copy/paste the 16GB REX directory (unpacked from the 7GB install file) directly into to a seperate folder. Either way, you need to reverify that you have:

1) all files from REX (16.8GB, 17.4k files)
2) your settings are pointing to the right FSX installation
3) have .Net 4.5+ installed (reboot after)

Don't know what SQL files you're missing. Sounds like you'll have to re-download REX again. Use flashget to ensure your massive download doesn't go screwey.

FSX runs fine but rex wont. I am at a loss now.

Just check my installed files, the Microsoft SQL that was installed along with REX4 is:
Microsoft SQL server 2012 Express LocalDB

Sounds like multiple issues here... uninstall REX, run registry cleaner, ensure REX is completely gone, and reboot. Download the REX install files from wherever you bought the package. In total, the installation will be 16+GB. I've installed REX on three computers, never had an issue.
