Sound setting changes from headphone to default
Every time I adjust my Saitek Trim Wheel prior to taxi FSX-SE resets the sound setting from Headphones (Plantronics GameCon 780) to <Default Primary Device>. This requires going into settings and resetting the headphones to have sound. Is there a fix to make the headphones the default?

Wow .... that is a weird one.

Is there any chance that is a power issue? Do you use a powered USB hub?

Yes, It's a 6 port, all full. I think it's a Kingston but its stuck down so I can't easily get to the bottom.

I lied. Its a Belkin USB 7-Port Power Hub. (Found The Box) Its plugged into the same battery backup as the computer and is therefore always powered.

You should try reducing the load to see if this is a power issue. Try with just your headphones and trim wheel plugged directly into the PC, and everything else disconnected. I have had some weird things happen because of power problems.

Also after FSX starts at the menu page, spin the trim wheel a few times then go setup the headphones in sound settings then try a flight.

Thank you. I think you might have hit on it. I ran an extension cord to one of the "Super Charger USB" ports and the issue appears to have gone away. Now I just have to figure out how to move things around to give my headphones there own port.

Well, a month has gone by and the problem still. I moved the headphones to their own USB port and thought that helped, it didn't. Is there anyway to make the headphones the default in FSX-SE?
