3rd monitor for left window view
How do Iexactly go about using an additional monitor just for looking out my left window? I believe it would help me in a left hand pattern for landing. The monitor is all set-up and ready to go, I just need to know how to move the view to it and hold it there.

Thank you

Hello my friend, yes indeed that is possible, but that depends on your graphics card and computer.
If running one computer and running three screens from one vid card, moving views to another monitor, your computer will take a major cpu hit, and also your vid card will be really working,
If you are just moving bit maps like perhaps the Fmc, or a screen that does not draw video you will get very little hits from the cpu or vid card.
But if you are asking the third monitor to show you a side view of you moving your plane and drawing the scenery you will have a drastic hit.

But if you are networking two computers together and set it up correctly, you can have the second com take the load of the side view and your main computer running just your front view.
Total difference in performance.
There was a time that I had up to eight monitors running various views and duties with a four computer network set up.
All you have to to is open a view and pick a view from the drop down FSX menu. Then undock it and move it to the other screen, then look what happens to your frame rate. Depending on your cpu power you will see a hit.
I have been dealing with FSX for years I know it inside and out.
I'm not familiar with your system, but if it is not at least above average you will have a new set of problems.
My latest and greatest computer build is a 6700k water cooled, with 32 Meg's of ram and a 1070 gtx vid card on a asus mb running at 4.2 giga.
I'm running with most sliders up, but even then I have to turn my sliders down do to the 4 gig limit with FSX. That's another story.
So it sounds like you are venturing out in the possibilities of running several monitors.
Be warned though, when you get the third monitor going you are going to warnt a forth one, after all if your looking left why not look right.
Yes sir my friend it can be done , and work real well.
Sorry for being long winded, but I felt I needed to tell you that.
I have been doing this for years.

Networking is the way to go. Search the net there is tons of info on networking.
Truly hope this helps"...........RobertC

Sorry for being so late with the reply.
I have been able to use your instructions as to undocking and sliding the view, and it seems to be working fine, but I never really checked to see how much of a frame rate drop I'm getting. I'll get back to you in a day or so and let you know.

Thanks
