Thrustmaster T16000 FCS and TWCS H.O.T.A.S.
On the TWCS throttle the single orange button controls the undercarriage.
Of the two other orange buttons the left one extends the flaps incrementally and the right one retracts the flaps incrementally.
The next dual button is used to raise and lower the spoilers and to raise and lower the NAVY aircraft arrester hook.
Two lateral 'buttons' on the middle hat are used to control the TRIM adjustment up & down with my left thumb.
The lower four-way 'button' hat conrols the Augusta EH101 helicopter hoist.
1. Extend the hoist [Ctrl + U]
2. Lower the hoist wire [J]
3. Raise the hoist wire [K]
4. Arm the hoist wire [O]
This way I don't have to take my left hand off the throttle when in a 'delicate position', such as hovering over a rescue or landing on a carrier.
On the FCS
1. Trigger to release and apply brakes
2. Right hand button to increase the PITCH
3. Left hand button to decrease the PITCH
I find that the TWCS throttle gives a finer degree of control.
The twelve other buttons can be used for example to raise and lower the water rudder on the Dehaviland float planes, drop objects, raise and lower the floats on the Grumman Goose, apply the parking brakes instead of using Ctrl + ; and various other functions of your choice.
E.G. Calling up the tow plane and releasing the tow rope on the sail planes, etc.
If you find that the throttle slide is too stiff just move the throttle all the way forward, turn it over and use a screwdriver to release the tension applied by the screw which you can see through the adjustment aperture in the base.
I would not bother with the T.A.R.G.E.T software.
Driver downloads are available on the Thrustmaster support site.
