Beechcraft T-34C Turbo Mentor Add-On [Official]
This is the official discussion thread for all things related to the FSX: Steam Edition add-on Beechcraft T-34C Turbo Mentor by Virtavia

http://store.steampowered.com/app/500239

The Beechcraft T-34 Mentor is based on the earlier piston-engine variants produced in the late-1940s. Almost six decades after it was designed, this propeller-driven, single-engine military trainer remains in service, having provided a crucial stepping stone for thousands of student pilots.

The T-34C Turbo Mentor variant was produced in 1973 and is powered by a Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-25 turboprop engine. The Turbo Mentor remained in production right up to 1990.

Developed by Virtavia, the T-34C for FSX: Steam Edition is both realistic and detailed, ideal for training flights and missions

The T34C appears to be running when you load for flying, but it shuts itself down. There doesn't seem to be anyway to get it started again. Somehow I did get it started ONCE, but about 5 miles into the flight (I was only at to get it to climb to 1,500 ft at about 200 ft/min) the Texas (NW) suddenly disappeared and had to exit. I see there is a 160 page manual, but I can't find it. BTW: Private Pilot, 5,000+ hrs and over 300 hrs in T34A.

I got mine to start and fly by setting the fuel condition lever (lower left side bulkhead) to on from the default off position. Hope this helps.

I gave up on the auto start, too many issues. Manual start is is pretty simple enough. From a complete shutdown: move the fuel condition lever to on, battery on, ignition switch on, starter switch on. Once the torque settles down you can kill the starter and ignition. I would suggest placing the prop to low RPM during the startup as the plane will start moving forward, even with the parking brake set.

Now my next issue...why do my flight controls freeze up at 10,000'? The plane rolls into a 20 degree right bank at whatever nose-up attitude I happen to have. The plane remains uncontrollable in this attitude until it stalls out and drops below 10,000.

Disregard that flight control issue at 10,000'. Turns out it was operator error. I had the oxygen system turned off. Apparently I passed out.
