There are 3 difffernt type Carriers. Some are Static some are AI and move.

The carriers that move have working fresnel lens and lighted landing decks. They support catapult launch system and arrestor cable landings using the F-18 Hornet.

Static Carriers

USS Kitty Hawk CV-63 sits southwest of the Golder Gate Bridge (held over from FS2004)

5 new highly detailed carries in FSX:SE with deck scenery

Naval Air Station North Island (KNZY), California, USA
Naval Station Norfolk (KNGU), Virginia, USA
Apra Harbor (SW of PGUM), Guam
Puget Sound Naval Shipyard (NE of KPWT), Washington, USA
Naval Station Everett (NE of KPAE), Washington, USA

The AI Traffic Carriers that move and support the F-18 Hornet have round trip or TO/FROM same station waterplans.

Be sure to Increase the AI Traffic density of ships.

Times are GMT
Weekdays in FS are local time.
Example: Monday at 2:40 GMT is still Sunday local in Hawaii so select Sunday in FSX:SE.

The SDK has a TrafficTool Box .dll that can be added to the FSX:SE dropdown menu (called Tools) so you can monitor AI Planes and Large Ships (on flight/water plans) based on day and time.

I have been hosting with an aircraft carrier on Steam with a working elevator. For everyone using an F-18, regularly at the FlyFs formation fun room. It's there in multiplayer all the time. There is a static carrier there on which I regularly land. Heater can do it, but for everyone seeing that you can't trap on these static carriers with your F-18's , you need to download and follow instructions on the RCBO-30 program. Some information is on that here: https://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/showthread.php?250467-Help-Needed-With-COP3-rcbco-30-zip-Carrier-Package
You can modify any aircraft with the COP 3 panel to land on a carrier. For anyone interested, that's how I've been doing it.

Here is another link: https://flyawaysimulation.com/downloads/files/17837/fsx-carrier-operation-package-v30/ It's what I use for these missions and that'show Iland with these planes. Unfortunately, I can't get the mission with the T-45 Javier and Dino Cattaneo program to get on multiplayer, but I do have AI carriers, which I can use. First though, get the rcbco-30.zip

I do it all the time in any of the multiplayer rooms. You can place them anywhere the nose of your plane is facing, 1 nm, or whatever. I usually pick 5nm ahead for placement. What I don't know, or doubt, is that if none of the players have AIcarriers installed and working, then the other players wouldn't see the fleet. All I know is that AIcarriers works for me in multiplayer in any room.

Buddy, this thread is 3 years old. And you don't need that "zip" file you keep mentioning. If you have AI carriers the arrestor cables work.

Does anyone know exactly what I need to do to get the Tools to appear in the FSX SE menu bar...??

My understanding is that involves editing the XML.dll file in Appdata/Roaming, I tried editing the "Traffic Toolbox" entry in the XML.dll and changed the line <Disabled>True</Disabled> to <Disabled>False</Disabled> but the Tools still aren't showing up in the FSX menu bar.

If anyone has any idea how to get this working I would appreciate the information.

I had to instal some version of java when I did it. There looks like quite a few issues on the discussion here: http://www.fsdreamteam.com/forum/index.php?PHPSESSID=t56dpj6rd435nrvt6vqkkq62u6&topic=11293.15

I have Java installed so that's not the problem, and the thread you linked is for the AI Carriers2 add on, and what i'm looking to do is use the SDK Traffic Tool Box to monitor the default FSX AI carrier movements. Thanks anyway.

My version of AICarriers2 only works with .NET 4 which superceded the Java version.

I have Net Framework 4 installed, but I have not been able to get AICarriers2 to work.
