Microsoft Flight Simulator X: Steam Edition

Microsoft Flight Simulator X: Steam Edition

Where does this game store the fsx.cfg?
Because I can't find it, i can find the one that my boxed install uses which is in the usual location in %APPDATA%\Microsoft\FSX but modifications to this one don't effect the steam edition, namely i'm trying to reenable WideAspectView

Any ideas?

Mine was in the same folder as the boxed version, just in the fsx-se folder

Steam/Steamapps/Common/FSX/Config

I hope this helps atredies.

AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX-SE\fsx_se.cfg I made that change here and it works great

The one in Steam/Steamapps/Common/FSX/Config .. is the DEFAULT one that is copied in, in the event that you delete or corrupt yours in the documents area.

I can't seem to find the line of code I need to change in the steam version. I'd love for my triple monitors to display FSX correctly

I'm wondering if I can't find it because I only have the steam version. I also could just be down right stupid at finding files. I did a "CTRL+F" for the display code in all the config files. Nothing turned up.

if its the widescreen entry.. the only one I have in my box fsx.cfg is this.

under display.

WideViewAspect=True

also when your looking for display.. use [Display] with the brackets.

Line 36 in the fsx_se.cfg under %appdata%\microsoft\fsx-se\

Save your currnet .cfg as onther file and give it a go?

They should work.. though some of the settings are no longer needed.. however not detrimental.

I did not have any issues moving mine over.. though I prefer my boxed edition over the SE..

They do not like to play nice together.. and going to the SE takes away too much of the payware that I already own.. most notably the GNS530 from RealityXP..

I know flight 1 has that new one.. however I have so many aircraft made to take the 530 already.. sad it does not work correctly.
