tbh, if it doesn't have instructions.... don't bother with it :)
Open the aircraft.cfg of the aircraft you wish to fly via Notepad. Find the folder location and remember to select All Files to see files other than .txt. You will notice that the textures are arranged according to the order of the texture folders presented in the aircraft folder with the header [fltsim.X] where X is a number.
Notice that the texture with the header that displays [fltsim.0] is the texture displayed in the aircraft preview. Simply cut and paste the header and everything under the header to the top and rewrite the header from [fltsim.X] to [fltsim.0]. Don't forget to rearrange the order of other headers such that the order of all the textures are from [fltsim.0] to [fltsim.Z] where Z is the last texture.
If you mean repainting aircraft to your own imagination then follow this Youtube video showing how to repaint them and what programs you will require.

In his video information he has the links and just follow his guide to show how to produce them.
The files are clean and safe, I have used them to paint all the old Manx Airlines Aircraft liveries using FSX and FS2004 models.....
Edit - Almost forget....... it is FREE
