How to get Quality Wings 757 working in FSX Steam Edition!! **Guide**

Hello All,
I just wanted to post an update for those who wish to use their 757 in FSX Steam

(This is simply a workaround, not a patch, an official support process, or in any way endorsed or supported by QW)

Now with that out of the way, lets get to it!

1:Download the and install the latest FSDT Addon from here: http://www.fsdreamteam.com/products_addonmanager.html
2:Download and install the QW 757 Installer 1.3.2 titled qw757_FS9_FSX_SP3_Setup from here: http://www.qualitywingssim.com/files/ultimate_757_collection/service_packs/qw757_FS9_FSX_SP3_Setup.zip
3:STOP AND DO NOT LAUNCH THE SIM YET!
4:Download and install the latest FSUIPC Module (4.938b or higher) from here: http://forum.simflight.com/topic/66139-updated-modules/
5:Now run FSX Steam Edition and accept all the new modules that you may have to give permission to.

Unfortunately QW said that they will not support their 757 on this platform, so you are on your own if you need help while using FSX Steam and the 757 Ultimate Collection. Hopefully the 787 is better.

yeah pretty much wont bother buying a addon if they dont support what im useing though there is a lot of great pople like you jordan that can figure these things out I dont see any reason at throwing money at developers that dont nativly support something that im useing.

thank you very much for your contribution.

I do not have the QW 757, but I do have the Quality Wings Ultimate 146 Collection for FSX and P3D, which for records I used a lot under FSX boxed. Now I switched to FSX Steam and this is currently the only addon aircraft that I have not yet installed, reason being QW declared they have currently no plans to support their own products under this platform.

However, your attempt is encouraging me to give a try. I will try to reproduce your procedure adjusting it to the Ultimate 146 Collection for FSX and P3D. I searched in this forum and on the Net, but apparently nobody has tried to install the old FSX installers under FSX Steam.

I'll keep you posted as soon as I have some actionable news.

Just download the latest Quality Wings installer. Since I wrote this, Quality Wings has begun supporting FSX Steam

I am having problems running the latest version in DX10 mode.. it will CTD anywhere between 5 minutes and 30 minutes.. I have done serval test of not running addons (ASN, REX4, My Traffic 6, ORBX) and the only way to not have a CTD is to turn DX10 off. In DX9 I can run all of my addons maxed out no issues!

Thanks for getting back to me. I tried the new installer. Still every time I select the 757 from the AC menu I get a message that FSX has closed....any thoughts?

When I try to get FSUIPC from your link it says me "We could not locate the item you are trying to view." Is there another link where i can get FSUIPC

Not sure why people are saying they're not supporting their addon for FSX SE because there is a new installer available on their site: Ultimate 757 Full Installer (V1.3) - FS9/FSX/FSXSE/P3DV3 (SP3) http://www.qualitywingssim.com/installers.html
