I've been making clips of carrier landings with FRAPS. I've been using the free version that only allows 30 second clips. If you pay $37 you can make full length video of a flight though. There might be better software out there for making videos of FSX. I don't really know much about it. I use fraps because DTG support recommended it to me for recording a software issue and it's free.

you can use FSrecorder version 1.331, it will generate an error dialog, just click ok, it does work, I have been using it since Dec.

What view does FSrecorder capture?
Gapskii 2015 年 5 月 12 日 上午 10:55
do you want a replay so that you can switch to different views? or just for in the flightdeck? fs recorder just records certain things like speed hdg alt etc but you can switch to any view, fraps is also another way but that's only a replay in windows media player or vlc or something else not ingame like fs recorder does, fraps will also decrease your frames a bit, imho the way i do it is for landings i use fs recorder and for full flight i use OBS recorder with quick sync so i dont lose fps while recording

yes that works, although if you have a landing that takes 5 min instant replay is gonna look less precise

well i am not reveiwing my whole landing procedure. just the actual touchdown. Like am i comming in too high ? too low ? too fast ? you know. i am practicing makeing that smooth nice landing.

Am not that good with auto pilot or GPS flying..infact i know nothing about it right now. need to be more familiar with the ATC language if you know what i mean.

best to learn to fly manual first anyways, what planes you are trying to improve your landings in?
CMDR.FREEZER 2015 年 5 月 12 日 上午 11:21
switching between airbus A321 or a Boeng 737
CMDR.FREEZER 2015 年 5 月 12 日 上午 11:22
would u recommend another aircraft ?
Gapskii 2015 年 5 月 12 日 上午 11:29
aircrafts are fine, just little bit harder since people go small then large but i also started with 747 when i started playing flight sim, just takes a little bit longer to master

The FSX replay will show the touchdown.

Just make sure you are calculating your approach speed correctly, based on aircraft weight, and the wind speed and direction... and don't forget to use full flaps, if not, one notch from full, for landing.

http://www.b737.org.uk/vspeeds.htm

Use ILS approach, and then auto throttle to hold that speed until 200-500 feet above the runway threshold. Than, hit the Zed key to go manual, keeping the aircraft lined up by hand, using the PAPI lights as an indicator of glidepath; and then, a bit nearer to the threshold, slowly bring back the power, cutting power to idle between 30-50 feet above the runway.

Don't flare very hard at all. Just start to increase back pressure at about 10 feet, when you feel the plane is getting to the point of stalling.

With practice, you should be able to touchdown between 1 and 3 feet per second. Any more than 3 feet per second will start to feel rough.

It's also important to have your keys mapped out on your joy-pad so that you don't have to look down during this critical process.

ILS approach. not sure what that is or even how to use/activate it.

Can you use auto throttle without useing auto pilot ?

ISL is a signal that directs your plane to the runway. ILS frequencies are setup in your NAV 1 NAV 2 ... Normally you would have the ils frequencies setup up in advance and normally when you are like 50 Miles out you would begin to pick up the ILS Morse code. Once you hit the APPR button your plane would then follow the signal to the runway. At about 200 feet you would disengage and land it by hand. You would get the frequencies numbers to use from the airport flight plan when you look at the run way and put your cursor over it or lick on it. If the Airport supports ILS it would show you a number like 108.700 to use for example.

I normally use GPS flight plan and then kick in my ILS appr once I get cloase enough

Wait...what ?? :O

it directs me to the runway....like line me up with the runway? all i have to do is to actually land the aircraft ? sounds abit too good to be true :P is this how it works in real life ?
