FSUIPC problem
G'day, I'm having trouble installing FSUIPC.
I used to have the FSX box verion, but I uninstalled it before upgrading to the steam edition.
Apparently, FSUIPC thinks I still have the box version as the installer is looking for FSX in the old pathway (program files/microsoft games/fsx).

Anyone know how to fix this?
I'm guessing I will need to delete some (old) registry entries, but I'm not really sure which ones.
I've always been warned not to mess with regedit unless I know what I'm doing!

have you downloaded the newest version, which is fsx:se compatible

I have version 4.939 it says it's FSXSE compatible. I'ts just trying to install it in the old directory

yea, you still have your old fsx install in your registry, there is a fix for that on the flight1 site, it will point to the new install after running it.
I believe this may correct your install issue http://www.flight1software.com/files/FS_Registry_Repair.exe

I think that did the trick, I still got an error about not being able to access the fsx dll xml file but other than that, it seems to have installed ok.

no problem, glad i was able to assist
the dll.xml file may be corrupt, you can open it in wordpad and check it...let me know how it works out

I had a look at the dll.xml and there is an entry about launching fsuipc4 so I guess it worked.
No idea why i had the error message.
Anyway, it all seems to work now so it's all good.
