Executive Tour mission

I follow the shuttle from the left, a little behind, more or less at the same altitude.

Yet when the shutlle lands, I have mission failed...

What is the correct way to follow the damn shuttle ?

It's been years since I completed that mission. If I remember correctly your mission is to get him to the airport. To complete the mission you have to land ahead of the shuttle. Once the airport is in view the escort part of the mission is over so you can land. The Shuttle will follow.

remember the big brass in the back are sitting on the left. They want a good view of the shuttle which they cannot get if you fly to the left of it.
Personally I take great delight in that mission on hitting bumps and causing the brass great pain:)

I misundestood. Spokeman said left side: I thought I had to go on the left side of the shuttle.

I played this years ago and just today flew this mission until the end. I followed to the right of the shuttle and stayed back until it had landed. Without warning or negative feedback, I was given a mission failed. I thought I had given the Secretary of Defense a great tour. Instead, I was given a failing score which no doubt would affect my career. As a thank you, I gave him a close up of the shuttle. The last thing that went through his mind was the shuttle. Literally. Parts of the shuttle likely killed him as they impacted his skull. Unfortunately, he didn't make his 8am meeting.
On the bright side, his back won't hurt him anymore.

Good tips Pegasus. I plan to try to complete that mission again eventually.

Not related to the OP's issue, but also related to the mission, is that you need to turn the scenery complexity down or there will be fences and hedges getting in your taxi path for the start of the mission.

Sorry guys, the hedges and fence show up in the highest Scenery Complexity setting. No gremlins here. Set it one notch down (Very Dense) removes them.

Thank you for all the tips. I think I must have gotten even ahead of it by a little bit... I should have hung back. I'll try it again, this time taking into account what you suggested.
