PMDG 747-400 install issue.

I bought this dowload today, went to install it, and get the following message : Installation cannot continue. Your registry does not show a valid FSX installation location. I have had no problems (other than the dll.xml issue that a lot of folks are having) with FSX-SE. My Steam is located on another hard drive in my rig, but again, have never had any issues installing or playing any of them. This is a first for me. Any thoughts?

You might try posting in the PMDG 747 forum on Avsim. Some people apparently have gotten it working, but it is pretty old and the installer wasn't designed for Steam.

This is just a guess, since I don't have this aircraft. If you have the FSX boxed version on the same computer you should be able to install it in that but you will have to do some tinkering to get it to work in the Steam version, such as editing the DLL.xml file.

Thanks Mike777LR, I sorted it out late last night. Had to run a little program to fix the registry issue, then ran into a FSX.cfg vs FSX_SE.cfg issue which was resolved by finding and renaming the FSX.cfg file. So, it seems to be working OK now, thanks again for your response.
