When I ran FSX under DX9 I saw a lot of graphical anomalies when my GPU was being overworked. With DX10 enabled, they went away.

The file you have to edit is called general10.fx and is in your FSX\ShadersHLSL\General folder. Remember to make a BACKUP of it before editing.
I just inserted the stuff in the end of the genelar10.fx file
For this shader fix to work you first have to delete the SHADERS folder in the 'username'\AppData\Local\Microsoft\FSX-SE\ <---NOT the same place as fsx-se.cfg
When starting FSX a new Shaders folder will be created.
Everything is pretty much been replaced in this system accept for the processor. With the issue persisting.
In some cases.. in my research it has been the graphics card.. however if it was the graphics card going you would most certainly be getting graphical spikes to go along with the flickering I'm sure.
Good luck finding out what it is.. as its been a nightmare for me. Hours of searching comes up with very little to go by. One says Power Supply .. one says RAM. one says etc. etc. etc. I do believe its the processor. I'm replacing it in the next 2 weeks.. I'll report back my findings.
