Creating Models (Microsoft Flight Simulator X: Steam Edition)
Hi there, I have the following questions:

- Can anyone provide me with a guide on how to build models for this flight simulator?
- Specifically, I require a lot of input (as much as possible), and I hear the flight model of this game is accurate, is this true?

What I want to do, is prototype an aircraft model (just in the sim for now), but the thing is the model will have to be accurate, so I'm wondering if I am choosing the right simulator for this...

Any help, or pointers in the right direction, is much appreciated! Thanks!

I think you want X-Plane by Laminar Research. In simple terms, X-Plane is like a digital wind tunnel. The developers give you the tools for creating your own aircraft designs and testing them in the virtual world.

FSX isn't as physics-based. You could literally 3-D model a fruit crate and still give it the flight characteristics of an F-16 fighter jet.

If you are set on making models for fsx looking into things like model converter x, blender, etc.
Thank you guys for your support ..
Here is a small token as a reward.

I have decided to follow your advices, and just purchased X-Plane 11. When we prototyped an aircraft years ago, we used the demo version of X-Plane 11, too ..

It is too bad I don't have any of those files still laying around here.

I just hope the modelling can be done relatively easy, since it's the 1st time for me to model a plane, all solo and by myself.

The important things are the wind model, and later also building in collision detection.

I am reasonably technical with computers and development, as I've worked in game development before, and I can't wait to get this game installed.

Sorry @ Microsoft flight sim. devs ...

*Note* : The Microsoft Flight Simulator X really barely supports my system, the color on my puny system almost looks like EGA video, or normal VGA.

I will be back with your product as soon as I get some kind of cash bonus which life hands to certain (lucky) people, so I could buy a gaming PC w/ a dedicated Ray-Tracing GPU setup ..

But I'm not spoiled, or trying to remain humble, and not cry (for once in my life) about a problem which basically is just a luxury problem.

If you (MS Flight Sim developers) find time to update the video drivers to support an MSI (mini) PC integrated GPU (and Ryzen 5xxx) ;; ...

then let me know and I will try your product, because I hear your sim has got some (well) deserved props as well, in this gaming market / flight simulator industry.

As an ex-pilot, I am very curious though, if it would be possible to import the models from other flight sims into Microsoft Flight Simulator X (regular edition), and I will look into that -&- any information about modelling going on w/ your sim (too).

Thanks for all your support.

P.S. Let me know about your Updates.

Leave any comments if you model planes in this flight sim or X-Plane 11?
Go ahead and share any of your (preferably working) models, or modelling resources, guides, scripts, tools, editors, tested applications, or show me some screens (or videos) of your working models, or work in progress.

Also, let me know what would be your favorite plane, or what to take into account when I am trying to create a model, doing mapping textures, mapping flight controls, avionics, or replicating sensor / communications equipment, anything related or not mentioned.

My fav plane is an unfamiliar prototype I had the pleasure to fly ... My second most favorite is the f-16C I flew.
