I typically do 300-400nm flights because I am usually too busy for longer ones.Here are 3 for now:

KBWI (or KDCA or KIAD) to KBOS - Gives a nice view of NYC and Long Island off the starboard wing.

KLAX to KLAS - I like to let Rex4 pick out random sets and fly this one. Much different than the East Coast scenery that I usually see.

TIST to KEYW - St. Thomas to Key West - Very tropical

Got one I should try?

In GA cessna 172 St Maarten Saba Challenging landing, then fly to St Bart's playing time about 50 minutes. In airliners LOWI (innsbruck) is a nice dest. starting from LGSK flying from subtropical Greece over the mediteranian into the Alps also tricky dep. and landing at both sides. Don't try this with a 747 if you are serious but if you want an impossible challenge then please do try. LGSK is also a nice dest. so make it a round trip. 2,5 to 3 hours on the round trip incl. no flying time.

I was playing FS-Economy, a online website/game that lets you buy/sell aircraft, get jobs(flights) to do, cargo adjust plane weight, fuel counts etc - Anyway it forced me in a way... well I bought a helicopter right in the Hymalayian mountains (spelling? lol) and I plotted airport hops all the way to new york city, coming down across UK, to Greenland, to the other side of green land (thats was a monotonous jaunt - just white lol) - and then to canada... there were some long legs in there that are not my normal thing - but - I was FORCED if I wanted to use my newly purchased FS-Economy aircraft in the US - I had to fly it home!

Got to love it!

I found the whole - get from here to NYC fun - figuring out the best airports - fuel considerations - all that.. I hope you get a great recommendation!

Hi, SuperTailsHD. One of my favorite flight routes in FSX (and real life) is from KMYF (Montgomery Field, San Diego) to KPHX (Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport. I wouldn't recommend the flight in a 172, though. ;)

That would be a good flight but with a 172. it would take like 5 hours to take with that plane.

Indeed.I made that flight my first long cross-country trip in a Piper PA-28-161 (N303GS) two days after I got my Private Pilot license. Oh man, what a laborious grind!

In 1966 Kernahan and Rinker Buck, ages 17 and 15, flew their Piper Cub across the USA. from New Jersy to California. This mission loosely depicts their 7 day journey, as told in Rinker's book, Flight of Passage, and is available at FSXMissionsHangar.com under the same name.

I sometimes head to Alaksa for those, but it's more of a bush experience than anything else.

I also like to start out in Tokyo and fly around Japan, or Tokyo to Seoul, South Korea.

Kathmandu --> Lukla
Defalut scenery for Lukla is pretty poor though.
