Can't use X52 Pro FSX_v2 profile in FSX Steam Edition
I just purchased an X52 Pro but I can't seem to get the FSX profile working properly.

Here's what I tried:

I downloaded and installed the latest drivers and the latest version of the Saitek Software from the official website. I read the tiny pdf manuals.

I ran the Software and selected the FSX_v2 Profile.

The display on the Throttle shows FSX_v2 and the throttle and joystick do work in FSX but none of the supposedly assigned buttons do anything.

I also installed the FSX plug-in from their website but that didn't help either.

I'm probably missing something obvious here but I can't figure out what and Google isn't much help.

System:

Windows 7 x64
i7 920
6GB Ram
Nvidia 960

Thanks in advance.

Have you tried mapping the keys from within FSX? In the Controls ---> Buttons/Keys?

Yes and that works fine but the Saitek Software doesn't.

I also followed the following guide: https://www.reddit.com/r/EliteDangerous/comments/2qjsw4/psa_saitek_x52_install_problem_solved/

I even installed an older version of the Programming Software but so far nothing made the software operate as intended.

Okay. I too, have had my share of problems with Saitek software for my joystick/yokes, the primary one being that after I install the software and are instructed to plug in my device, the software says something like,"No compatible device detected," or something like that.
What I ended up doing was uninstalling every bit of the SST software that I had on my computer, including the Saitek drivers for my yokes, pedals and joysticks.
I rebooted my computers (I sim on 3 different PCs and use the flying hardware interchangeably) rechecked that all traces of Saitek software was gone, then reinstalled first the device drivers software for the controls, ran FSX, X-Plane, P3Dv.2 and a few other titles successfully, rebooted the PCs, ran the sims again successfully, shut down (not restart), unpludgged all of the flying hardware, then booted up and installed the SST package which included the Mad Catz Profiler software. The software prompted me to plug in my device(s), which I did, then it detected my device(s) and things have worked well since.
Have you tried just installing the device drivers first, without the SST and Profiling software?
