REX WEATHER ARCHITECT
In my honest opinion, being that I have most of the popular weather engines available, REX WEATHER ARCHITECT is a beautiful work of art. Create your own weather to your liking and fly. Plain n simple. I do reccomend. Enjoy!

Thinking of getting it.Does it show good thunder storm clouds that have the lighting flashes with in it?
How do you install is it into FSX STEAM version

Hi jeff, it's actually just an architect not an actual cloud and lightning sim. It uses REX4 Text and Soft Clouds and lets you create your own storm.

It has an download manager that is quick and easy.

I have the soft clouds but they dont have a set for thunder clouds too load into your theme.A funnel cloud in the making would be something too see also.

The REX$ plus Soft Clouds combo gives you the immersion you're looking for. Thats what the wehater architect uses and its simply beautiful.

Thanks for all your input on this guys. I've been trying to get Rex Weather to run with FSXSE for ages now. I thought it should have run with Rex Textures. It doesn't. I will give Rex Essentials plus Overdrive. Iv'e always liked that software in FSX before Steam.

What problems are you having running it?

I start FSXSE then I run Textures which automatically takes me into Weather.
But both in Textures and Weather it never keeps my FSXSE folder, email address, profile name or my settings for Textures/Weather in either software. It keeps coming up with a stupid OOPS please start Rex Weather again. I do and still won't work. I'm about to put Rex Essentials plus Overdrive in to see if I can get that to give me the clouds I want. Thanks for responding.

Are you suppose to install Rex into the main Steam / common / fsx folder ? I have tried it on the same drive and on a separate drive ( both SSD's ). When I ran Essentials the clouds appeared but it started FSX without Steam running and when the weather was injected the Radar came up and shut down FSX all together.

No, you don't install the program into the FSX folder (the manual is quite specific about this!)

Also you must never install textures when FSX is running. (although REX WA doesn't install textures on its own unless you're running REX4 with it)...

Double double check the manual through, make sure you have REX installed properly and updated. If it can't save its own settings that suggests there's something fundamentally wrong with your install.

You can use REX essentials along with Weather Architect if you already own it you can install textures from that and then use WA for your custom weather. That's all REX WA does btw is allow you to set your own weather and have that injected into the sim. You can use REX4, REX essentials, REX soft clouds or any other cloud texture pack with it.

edit: I just noticed from your earlier post - REX WA won't install the REX essentials textures, you need to do that on your own. It intergrates with REX4 and will do all that from one program then but if you're using esentials or overdrive then you need to run that first, set up your textures then run WA and add your weather. Don't use the REX essentials weather at the same time as WA, just use it for the textures then close it and run WA after. HTH.

Thank you for your advice. I ended up thinking hard about it and realised there were two programs needed. One a texture program and Secondly the weather injector. Seeing that Steam had automatically installed Texture Direct into FSXSE, I thought I would try to put Weather Architect into the Steam FSX folder. And to my surprise it worked. I had to run FSXSE first and then I put the same dep/destination airports in WA. Filled in my weather, while FSXSE was running in the background and when I returned to FSXSE my weather was there. Its been running fine so far. So I won't play around with it while its working ok. Ground Services was my biggest headache. I had to reload FSXSE and all my aircraft several times because of something in there. So I can live without ground services. We all prefer to be in the air most of the time anyway. Thanks again. And enjoy your flying. I just got the 757 package. That with the Embraer and Fokker 27 , keep me happy for the moment.
