Project OpenSky and iFly did a very good freeware 747-400. You can still find them on certain flight-sim sites.

Look for TDS-based 747s and POSKY 747s also. rikoooo.com has a massive set of 747s for download, but be sure that you read the package descriptions; some are 2D cockpits only (eewww! ;-) ) and some have the 2D and 3D Virtual Cockpits; and still others are 3D VC cocpits only.

There are passenger and cargo (my favorites) versions. You can also try my alma maters: flightsim.com and avsim.net.
